These companies are all about fast pace and making money, they don't care if a Driver is killed or hurt. If you park a Truck you'll be receiving a call from the dispatcher asking why the Truck isn't moving, most of these Trucks got a tracking device on them. They know when you stopped.

When 6 ft of snow drop in one storm salts not going to melt it all. CA only uses sand. It adds traction. It also doesn't usually stay that cold during the day so as soon as it's plowed and the storm is over the sun cooks the snow of the road pretty quickly. Also I-80 is so heavily traveled alot of snow is just pounded back into water by all the traffic. I've never seen appreciable amounts of ice last very long after a storm on I 80

@@slunasaurusrex They know how to handle the snow with the sand and their equipment. I live in Illinois and I visited my relatives just before Christmas early 70's. My uncle took me up around Lake Tahoe and I was impressed by how well the roads were taken care of with a considerable amount of snow pack for skiing. He took a picture of me beside the road and the snow was over my head. Everyone should keep in mind that the Sierra Nevada snowpack is essential for the entire U.S. Its runoff provides 60% of the water consumed in the state. Given that half the fresh fruits and vegetables consumed in the country are grown in California, this makes this snowpack one of the most important "reservoirs" in the U.S. California grows over 200 different crops, some grown nowhere else in the nation. Crops include grapes, almonds, strawberries, oranges and walnuts. California produces almost all of the country's almonds, apricots, dates, figs, kiwi fruit, nectarines, olives, pistachios, prunes, and walnuts. It leads in the production of avocados, grapes, lemons, melons, peaches, plums, and strawberries. Only Florida produces more oranges.

Hope they all get back to warm an dry. Board up the windows in Truckee, that's a White truck, helped by white guys, in a white landscape.

And by the way a lot of them trucks got stuck because of vehicles in front of them come to complete stop. When the roads are that bad don't ever come to complete stop. Or you're screwed. They should have had the roads closed off.

Everyone make a check-call with their broker. They need a status update on that $1.30/m load of nothing they are insisting is urgent and HOT.

That's exactly the problem, guys hauling freight for $1.30 when we all know the breakeven number is $1.75 pm. Our company doesn't haul anything under $2.50 and round trip miles into Canada, $600 minimum for the first 100 miles. This is the only way to succeed in trucking.
