carvingonwood.com/powerrelief101 I wanted to create an introductory relief power carving video series to help you understand what is involved with power relief carving. The basics are quite simple, but by building upon these basics you can create remarkable works of art. A high-speed hand piece, also known as a high-speed engraver, is a great tool for completing any type of relief carving.

On small carvings such as the Daisy Carving completed in this video series the entire process can be completed with just the high-speed hand piece. On larger relief carving, such as medium and deep relief carvings or large scale projects, the high-speed engraving hand piece is perfect for completing those intricate details.
Completing intricate details is what a high-speed engraving hand piece is best at. Whether you are carving birds, fish, caricatures, habitat, or any type of relief carving a high-speed engraving hand piece can help you create beautiful detail.
In order to help you understand how to use a high-speed engraver to do relief power carving I created this daisy carving video series. This introduction video walks you through what you need in order to set up and began carving a daisy.
This Daisy Carving is a very good beginner level carving project to help you become comfortable with the high-speed engraving hand piece. It is important to understand the materials, tools, and accessories that will help improve your carving, as well as, make the carving process enjoyable and relaxing.
