Nice video! The last release fixes the problem with the ever-changing limits. Axis(...., limits = (-10, 10, -5, 5)) for example has sticky limits which don't change by adding plots anymore. Works with xlims! ylims! limits! as well

Wow! Julius Krumbiegel, everyone! The author of MakieLayout! Thank you for all of your work and thanks for the update! I can't believe you're watching my video. I'm sorry if I mispronounced your name. I'm a fan of your work!

You're a life saver... I was expecting a run-down of using Makie but you delivered a full-on lecture on reactive programming and why we should use Makie in the first place!

Gracias. Excelente video. Muy importante la explicación de las variables tipo "observable" y su sintaxis heredada/usada por GLMakie.

At least for me, the fonts on the tick labels & the menus was WAY too big. Easy enough to adjust, but I found it slightly amusing that the sizes you picked as eye-pleasing were so gargantuan on my machine.

That's good feedback. I should probably mention this in a future video. I'm recording on a 4K monitor and the settings are for a 4K image. If you're on an HD monitor, you might want to try a screen resolution of 1920x1080 (instead of the 3840x2160 that I used) and reduce the font sizes accordingly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Do you know Pluto.jl? It is a notebook environment for programming in the Julia language.

Yes, I know Pluto. It's a great alternative to the Jupyter Notebook. It's good that Julia users have many options when it comes to programming environments!

@@doggodotjl I think Pluto.jl deserves a tutorial, to show its features to Julia beginners.

@@eliascarvalho8637 I'm probably not the best person to make a tutorial on this subject. There are several good Pluto tutorials on KZitem, including a couple by the primary author, Fons van der Plas. However, I appreciate that you have confidence in me and I thank you for the suggestion!

This was really helpful. Thank you! One question: I have a slider that will sometimes produce x-values that plot outside the initial box. Can I make it so that the axes limits will always adjust to the current values?

I was wondering if it's possible to tell GLMakie to use a pre-existing openGL context, like one created with GLFW ?

Here, GLMakie window seems to have cap on ~22 fps. Is there a way to change that value? I'd like to set it at 60
