Hi Allan, just caught up with my video watching. You've made a good job of building those two baseboards and they will give you quite a lot of space but be easy to disassemble. Look forward to seeing your ideas for a track plan. Stephen

@Elvenhome Hi Stephen, I have made a start on the track laying and hope to have an update out soon. I'm thinking of doing a raised canal scene where the canal has been man made, and the railway has been laid on the area that has been dug out to supply the canal with some sort of sundries. Coal, lime etc. I would be interested in your views. All the best Allan

@@hayridgemodelrail4046 I like the idea of the raised canal scene. There certainly were very early railways that were built to bring bulk goods to the canal, until that is it was realised that it was easer to construct a railway all the way to where the goods needed to be. That would I think be on the same level as the canal to allow ease of transfer of the goods. Far more common is that railways were built running alongside existing canals in direct competition. Either way it's going to be interesting to model it. Stephen

Hi Allan! Looks like you've got the baseboard well under control! When I joined my three baseboards together, I forgot to drill holes through one of the crossmembers to take wires! It would be very tricky to get a drill in there now! Thankfully, it's not too bad for me, as my layout is fixed, and the wires can dip below the crossmembers, but well done for thinking about it ahead of time! I'm wondering why you decided to go with such thin cork? Won't that be prone to tearing? Cheers, Ian.

@@iansngauge Hi Ian. I was trying to get the trackbed as close to the real thing as possible, watch this space to see if it works. Sharp knife is definitely a must.
