Dude you changed my uphill game in 12 minutes. I was an aluminum welder first, now im running flux core. It really stressed me out that i couldnt figure this out (I'm pretty good with uphills with a spool gun). I havent mastered it, but my shop ran out of material and i spent the afternoon playing with this. On break i watched this then laid a pass. My settings are close to yours but my machine is a dinosaur, i think i need more voltage. My travel speed was wrong, too slow. This was exactly the tutorial I needed. Thank you SO MUCH!!!!

29 to 30 volts is my sweet spot with 300 to 350 wire on flat, vert, horizontal and overhead. I work on tanks and it faster than stick so we use it a lot cuz of production. just got to watch the puddle and speed and it’ll be fine

Have you considered any videos on 1/16 flux cored? It's used in a lot of shop settings, especially with vessels, but there aren't many videos on youtube for whatever reason. I've seen people in other videos asking for it as well because they're not used to the extra heat.

My biggest issue on any type of welding is not letting it cool. Specially on multi pass pipe welds. Not so bad on bigger or thicker pipe but some 2 and a half sched 40 gotta let cool.. more so in position then roll out. And don't take.much meat out of root on smaller pipe getting wagon tracks

Didn't keep the arc in front of pool and slag rolled or dripped into weld either from improper angle or running to slow where puddle sags or falls on you

What shade and what color lens is good for Flux core, it seems too bright with no puddle
@FoolsCanada

I personally use shade 10 but I've Heard that 12-13 is better. There not as bright and harder to see the puddle. So it a win lose. It comes down to preference. I find angle is everything
