Thank you for the wonderful video of one of my favourite places in Leicestershire, Bradgate Park has held a part in my heart since early childhood and I return whenever I can, Swithland is lovely woodland in spring and Autumn although can seem a little gloomy at other times. If you wish to see more of the deer closer than could I suggest a return in October especially towards dusk as it's rutting season and not only are the deer more active you can hear them bellowing their warnings mainly from the restricted area across the river from the tarmac footpath, I mentioned late afternoon as most of the deer cross the river back into the main parkland at this time. Keep up the good work I enjoy watching your films 👍

Well Patrick i got two commentries on this film , Lee has visited Bradgate Park , and was telling me about the deer and even peacocks that you can find within the park itself , Beacon hill is magnificent , and the surrounding views really are immense , Lee has lived in Preston for ten yrs now so it was nice for her to see some of her old haunts , Thank you so much from both of us .... Frank and Lee ...

I expect Lee will know this area a great deal better than me, this was my one and only visit to Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill. If I recall I think I may have passed through a bit of Coalville on my journey there, so I was telling fibs before when I said I hadn't been! :-) :-) Unfortunately one of the things I remember most about filming on this day was feeling a bit rough by the time I got to Beacon Hill only to discover the next day it was the start of flu, which hit me for two weeks! I don't get ill very often but boy was I bad on this occasion! At least I got my day of filming before it got the better of me!!! :-) :-) Thanks again Frank and Lee. Cheers, Patrick :-)

Loving your films Patrick,I'v got to the point where I always look forward to the next one,I don't know what I'll do when I get to 108, probably start again at the pilot, but I promise I won't comment on them all again next time round, your films have 100% helped me through a horrible month where I'v been ill and not been out much, but am on the mend and intend on doing lots of your walks this year,as well as weekends away with wife to Harlech and Clitheroe and other places I would never have previously thought of visiting. This was a really interesting walk,it was packed full of things to see along the way,the tower reminded me of the Boots folly opposite the Strines pub (I know the name now, thanks) and the big monument was very impressive in the middle of nowhere, very like the Captain Cook monument on the Roseberry Topping walk,he used to walk up to the top of RT,the walk starts at his boyhood village Great Ayrton and his school is a museum exactly as it was,the Australians bought his house and carefully dismantled it to rebuild exactly the same in Melbourne I think. This was a terrific walk, glad you got the shots of the deer. Thanks so much for sharing. Pete.

That's really great Pete to know you look forward to the next film. I still have more to edit after 108, then I might take a break from making films after that due to all the time and work involved. I wanted to film a walk not too far from home, that was somewhere I wouldn't normally consider making a film, so this was one such a location. I couldn't believe how tame the deer were, so it was great to be able to get so close to them. Thanks again Pete for watching :)

I no nothing myself about Leicestershire much, Patrick, only Leicester city visited a number of years ago. I didn't know that there a few places of high ground, either. The Old John Tower slightly reminds me of Solomon'sTemple at Buxton, with its shape. It does look quite impressive. Bradgate House is unusual that it's been left as a ruin in sections, and Beacon Hill presents some very good views of the surrounding countryside. You got some real good close-ups of those delightful deers, too. Many thanks Patrick, most enjoyable.
