With all the catalytic converter thefts, this issue must be somewhat common (even if its 1 in 1000). Glad you opened the ECU and gave us a peek. I did wonder if it was worth checking the original ECU with Techstream to see if there was any calibration that needed to be matched in the new one. I don't know if that's even a thing, but I thought Gen 3 had TSBs that updated that ECU.

I think you are right I should have at least recorded the original ecu calibration numbers. Oh well it’s too late now. I will update if any issues arise at smog check

Thanks for sharing this knowledge. I have a prius 2 gen (2007) with error p0a4b but not sure if it is the ECU or the transaxle or the sensors attached to them. Do you have any ideas on this? Appreciate your comments

I'm thinking about doing this for my own Prius, but I'm not sure where the best place to purchase one of these units is. Where did you get yours?

Good work, but I think on my own car nowadays I’m gonna start cutting through plastic components to get out things even metal supports. Wonder if I can cut that 7 1/2 hour evaporator replacement time by cutting through the side of the plastic case from underneath never thought about that . Just call me Hack & slash man 🤣

It is layered in an annoying way under there. I like your approach!
