Hasegawa motorcycles kits are recent and the quality is very high. Sometimes higher than Tamiya due to a number of small parts to detail the model. Tamiya quality is now very high too since 2000. The oldest Tamiya models like Yamaha 500 YZR '80 or Honda 500 NS '83 were sometimes difficult to assemble and the quality of the moldings was not great. We can find also a lot of mistakes regarding the colors recommended in the Tamiya notices. The Tamiya decals are sometimes very difficult to apply (NSR '98 or '00), very stiff. The best Tamiya motorcycle kit is,to my eyes, the Honda RC166 but incuding all the grade-up sets, the price is high. I own only one Fujimi still on the shelf.

As a youngster I built a lot of Tamiya 1/12 motorcycles and loved making them and always wanted the 1/6 Kawasaki kz1300 and on my 16th birthday I had enough money saved to buy one, It was just under £60 in 1985 and once built took pride of place on my shelf in my bedroom. Stumbled on your vid which brought back some memories for me. 👍❤️🇬🇧

I had the 1/6 Z1300 Tourer. Such a huge and cool kit. Currently I have the 1/6 CB750F and the 1/6 katana. All the Tamiya kits are so good

@@deonjansen the katana sounds interesting to me. It's a shame Tamiya don't make more 1:6 motorcycles. I often wonder if I might get back into model building when I retire, a great way to relax and create something. 👍

Great video. I don't understand why Ashima and Hasegawa are ssooo much more expensive than Tamiya. BTW, do you know where I can find replacement screws for Tamiya kits? I have a few that have no screws and of course, out of stock now. Thank you very much.

I'd be interested to see you build the Fiujimi as I have my eye on a couple of their model car kits as well and to see how they turned out.

The Fujimi cars are great. i have a few. If its the high detail ones, they have so many parts. this Fujimi CB1300 bike is an exception. very different, even in plastic hardness. Im building it currently and will soon give an update. the other Fujimi bikes - with the conventional Fujimi branding are much better.

I've built a number of Tamiya bikes over the years, and even the older ones have very little to be criticized. I have a few Hasegawa and Aoshima bike kits, but I'm yet to build them. They seem well detailed enough, although a bit different from Tamiya in conception. On the other hand, I bought the same Fiujimi Honda CB1300 you have there, because I really like the bike, and didn't do any research before buying it. I was surprised and disappointed at what I found inside the box. It's over simplified, with lots of parts molded as one piece that really should not be, and I imagine it will be a nightmare to build, as in difficulty bonding halfs together and getting rid of the seams, masking and painting. Lets see what I can do with it when the time comes. I appreciate and agree with your points thoroughly.

im Busy on the Cb1300 as we speak - it is the weirdest arrangement for a model but i will build it and do the best - i suspect its designed for beginners that dont want to fuss - but still. i will never go for this model type again. I probably wont build many more Fujimi bikes at all anyway. But yeah - the Tamiya kits are so good - even 40 year old kits
