I have one of those genuine Yamaha CT175 factory books that came with my CT175 which I bought in 1971. As seen here at 1min 30 sec mark.

This bike has never been off road, I remember this era. Many people bought these japanese enduros for cheap transportation to work and school.

I have two that would rival this machine, and both of them are among the only 4,000 regardless of year and/or engine size that have the factory-installed close ratio transmission that was used otherwise only in the MX models. VINs in the 200,000 range. I am about to finish restoration on the first: new shoes, bearings, seals, rim strips, tubes and tires in the correct sizes at both wheels, and the rest has undergone similar similar parts and work throughout. Will have a Motobatt installed. Even had the oil pump rebuilt by an old Yamaha mechanic who still does maybe 75 a year. I thought I'd give BAT a whirl on this first one.
