Hope to do it justice. Hope the decals look as good on the model as they look on the sheet

I agree about the Italeri decals, they have been the high point of the kits I've seen and built. I hope this one goes together better than the average Italeri kit.

I hold Italeri's engineering and manufacturing skills at a higher level than I do the abilities of AMT, Lindberg, MPC, and Monogram but lower than those of Tamiya, Fujimi, and Aoshima. I am currently building a 15-year-old version of the Scania you just unboxed and it is driving me nuts. The instructions are vague and sometimes offer conflicting views, and the plastic has become brittle with age. I hope Italeri's newer kits have improved because I still have some to build. Revell often cross-markets with Italeri in North America and I often find the same kit in different boxes. Revell's instructions are usually much easier to understand.

I agree with at some point, but the thing that I don't understand with Italeri is that it seems it has stopped in time. I've recently built a Scania T143 M500 (old kit) for a client of mine and it felt just like I was building the same kit.... Same engine, same chassis, etc. And the most annoying thing.... The parts don't have any good contact surface to grab on once they're glued... I mean, the cabin, for instance, it has very little contact surface between parts that I'm expecting a call any of these days with my client saying "the cabin is falling apart for itself".... ^^..... And it's a shame, because I really like Italeri's care for detail and final looks

@@TMModelkits You're right. And you're among several modelers who have made similar observations. Italeri was producing models of contemporary trucks yet putting the same chassis and engine combinations underneath. Why? I'm not sure; a money-saving measure, perhaps, or maybe a lack of the engineers that take designs from the 1:1 scale to 1:24 scale. Who knows? But you are doing great work with what they give you.👍
