This would end up being the last divisional round playoff home game and win for the 49ers until 2011.

Dwayne Rudd got a penalty for kicking the penalty flag. He had a knack for strange penalties. He had the infamous helmet toss penalty in 2002.

You should check out the divisional playoff game against the Cardinals. If you want to see more of Rudds screwups. Talented player, but a hothead as well. After his rookie contract was up in 2001, the Vikings let him walk.

I agree on that. I loved Dallas and San Fran in the mid 90s. That was good football. JJ had their number early but Barry didn’t have the same luck.

Marc Logan and Terry Kirby did their thing for SF in spot duty. Drakeford always got burned it seems. I would have loved to see Terry Allen on the 9ers in 95. Of course he was oft injured, so who knows......

As people have said the Vikings have only won ONCE in San Francisco in 1987 with Anthony Carter going off for over 200 yard receiving yards. Even in this year's playoffs the Vikings still couldn't get over that hump when facing the 49ers.

@Steve Kovaleski 96 was the only real ass kicking by GB. Gb benefitted from a defensive td and the refs particularly in 95 and 97....as well as the 96 rdgular season. I don't like the 9ers chances chasing around Moss, Carter and Randall on that astroturf in 98 though. Particularly without Hearst. That might have gotten ugly.
