This game is hands down the BEST video game ever made. I play it a couple times a year since I was like 10. I still have my original copy and my original snes

About that it usually takes me between 4 and 6 hours to do so even for a NO DEATH"s run on the ENGLISH SNES version of the game.

I believe this can only happen in the Japanese 1.0 version of the game, but if you cross the screen boundary before it kicks you back to land, you can stay in the water.

Does anyone know if save and quitting on the games pause screen (the continue game, and save and quit screen) count towards your death count in the North American version of the game?

Yeah I'm almost certain it does if im reading it right. It's primarily the reason no s+q exists as a category for Alttp speedruns

@@DeliriousIz20 yeah I found out last week I did a no death run which I succeeded but saving and quitting still counted as a death according to the game but not in my book however

Speed runs are typically done on Japanese versions because there is less text in the text boxes. So, its actually SMART to do it on the Japanese version.
