For those who says its fake, transformer only works with a voltage that changes value over time. AC and pulsating DC do change value over time. In this case, he puts transistor, which means he make the DC voltage from the batter pulsating to the primary coil. Also, as you can see, this inverter is the simple one, which means it has low power output. The LED bulb he used in this video requires very low power to operate. So, this inverter is still powerful enough to empower LED bulbs but not the others.

@mjrnabac

Yes, it can be done, but that AA will last too short time with that 9W load plus 2W maybe, convertion loss?. That is a basic Auto-oscilator, not controlled by any way, just lets that transistor runs freely, and not protection, so the EMITER-COLLECTOR JUNCTION will suffer with all those FEEDBACK pulses from the coil. It requires a protection diode in reverse in parallel with that junction.

@@suprememasteroftheuniverse "A joule thief is a minimalist self-oscillating voltage booster that is small, low-cost, and easy to build, typically used for driving small loads. This circuit is also known by other names such as blocking oscillator, joule ringer, vampire torch. It can use nearly all of the energy in a single-cell electric battery, even far below the voltage where other circuits consider the battery fully discharged (or "dead"); hence the name, which suggests the notion that the circuit is stealing energy or "joules" from the source - the term is a pun on the age-old expression "jewel thief". This is one of the most basic curcuits. A CRT does the same thing by transforming your mains voltage 220/120V etc. Into 27000 volts for the picture tube. So nothing special here. Of course you can up-transform a battery's 1.5V to 220V mains, it's just not a very good idea since excessive current is drawn from the battery.

These poor people doesn't know about electronics. You need to learn first the basics of Current, Voltage, Resistance and Power. You cannot simply power on a TV even the output voltage of this circuit is 220V AC consider also the Power output of the circuit. 🤗

You gotta understand that for you to get out usable electricity you would need at least 12v@10A+. This guy is trying to make 220v out of 1.5v? The amount of volts isn't even enough to make an magnetic flux inside the cores, you would need at least 5v on primary. Even if this did work your Amperage output would be 0.00015A which isn't usable for anything.

from where you got the core? You are mentioning about voltage. But how much current?
