Top stuff Owen! As a true fan and devotee I watched the whole thing. Over several sessions-in the manner of my preferred way to play a wargame. It was worth the time and effort. The home-spun production qualities (which you have explained 'off air' came about as you had no time to prepare for a full production video) make it feel like being there for a real wargame. We get the interactions of the players and umpire, thoughts about moves, discussion of rules and options, tension of the dice rolls, friendly banter and lots of humour. In short enjoy a wargame played in 'the best manner'. Congrats to you, Mal and The Don. The comment from @WargameRus for a shorter, sharper version is a sage one, but clearly not possible in this case.

Thank you very much! I did want to capture the experience of the social element of a wargame and that was important to me, so while it's a little rough I think the fun of human banter more than makes up for it!

Thanks! Yeah the late bronze age is fun, rarer in 1/72 but full of that epic mystique of old heroes and legends

It is very nice to see some Bronze Age love. I've been looking over the Hail Caesar rules recently and I think I may have to give them a shot once I get enough bases of figure painted up.

I quite like the ruleset, it's designed to be fast and easy to play - painting enough figures is the hardest part haha, lot to get through, lot of time periods, I know you're already working on a lot!

War chariots with bulls. An interesting idea. Still, it seems that it was a wagon train. In Russia, a modeler under the Lazy Hedgehog peak made a model of such chariots. He had better ones. He took a wire and made a strong frame. Then he braided it with a thin wire. After painting, it seems that it is made of twigs. He made with her a diorama of an attack on the peoples of the sea (paleset) of the Egyptians. You have a large-scale army!!!

Изготовление боевой повозки или колесницы из проволоки, вероятно, создаст наиболее реалистичный эффект, но это также потребует очень много времени, я уважаю усилия, которые потребуются для создания такой диорамы.

Haha, it is long, I really did try to cut it but I ended up thinking, better to keep the essence of stuff than to trim too much. That's how you end up recreating a Lord of the Rings length drama

Really enjoyable video; thank you, enjoyed the spectacle of 1/72nd figs. Hat does seem to make an extensive range of late Assyrians, but unfortunately not much else. Just started organizing my 1/72nd Romans and Carthaginians for 'Mortem et Gloriam' as there are extensive ranges for this period. I think you may like the HaT Sumerian's though; they would make a great narrative game or campaign narrated in the style of Gilgamesh. [As an aside, that first chariot charge into those archers should have broken them. Added 2 to morale roll rather than subtracted 2, so result should have been a 1- broken].

Linear-A are planning on releasing some new Assyrian infantry, siege troops and looters either this month or early next year, so we will all get new Assyrians in 1/72 after waiting for decades. I do own the HaT Sumerians but I wish other companies offered alternatives and the chariot unit is hard to source, I don't think I'd make that army for a while. I personally prefer the Roman republic - imperial era, there are extensive ranges and the cultures available are diverse and distinctive. Ah, thanks for the rules correction, I think I've never played a game where we've managed to get all the rules right, something always slips through in the urgent page flipping of the moment haha.

@@oblomovbruce9979 Yeah I know, I like the sculpt that's not the issue, it's just that I don't know if it's because of global supply chain issues but to get it, it has to be shipped from overseas now, so I'd have to make it part of a big order to make it worth it, so requires some forethought on my combined order

Good fun. How do you like the Hail Caesar rules? Easy to learn?

Yeah they're easy and fast-paced. What I like in particular is the effort to streamline things and the choices it gives players - dividing armies into divisions speeds up the opening movement phases but when individual unit maneuvering matters you can go tactical with that and the option for the leaders to fight, but risk dying in the process gives players a risk / reward dilemma so I think it's a decent ruleset that's not too complicated.

I'll give you some good advice. Take this movie and make a cut of the game. The best moments, attacks and defeats. Less twitchy shooting with your hands. Lock the camera. Shoot each move from one or more angles. Insert high-quality photos of warrior units into the video so that they can be viewed. This will give viewers empathy for the events on the battlefield. Make a video for 15-20 minutes. This is better than a more than two-hour video clip. or split the video into two. In the first part, the background, description of the troops and disposition on the battlefield. The second film is about the battle.
