I have this model, and I stopped building it maybe 45 years ago for the very reason you talk about - directions are just about useless when it comes to the point of final assemblies. I still have the model in the basement ... maybe I will open it up and assess whether I can salvage it! Great work and thank you for sharing.

Thank you Lots of patience needed, and discard the instruction manual when it comes to the assemblies itself; just try for yourself and figure out the best solution for everything to fit

As I started building this kit, I can say that the worst part are the countless pin marks. Apart from this, the chassis must be built and aligned properly first, making sure to proceed to countless dry fits of the main compartments on the way and gluing as many parts as possible before painting. The painting procedure must be approached as a tank, with pre and post shading to taste. Definitely a hard kit, especially if you plan to scratch build the fuel tank (as I do) which is totally absent. Good luck!

The worst parte for me is drilling out every single nut... They're not the same size as the screws.....

How about building those wire wheels? My dad built this kit decades ago and I can remember an expletive or two during the wheel building.

I was considering building this kit. After much research, internet tutorials and the cost...I think not. Pocher kits are highly detailed and one of the first large scale automobile kits available. Unfortunately fit issues seem to be the norm. Years ago I actually purchased the Porcher Fiat Spider, ended up giving it away. Sounds like things have not improved.

I brought the RR Sedanca coupé kit in 1978, I was disappointed how poor the engine assembly went and put it away in its box and forgot about it 45 years later it sits in my loft unbuilt even now I don't relish the prospect of assembling it.

I bought a Pocher kit years ago, but was never completed. The 1928 Fiat Spyder was just so poorly designed and manufactured I gave it away. The kit had tons of issues including fit and zero tech support.
