I'm still confused about how this modular stuff works, but the cockpit feeling with knobs and cables looks terrific! Amazing atmospheric stuff, keep up the good job Idra! Greetinx from Istanbul.

Any synthesiser contains different functions or parts that can work together in different ways. In a more normal synth these connections and the order of these are usually or totally fixed. It can help to look at a modular system as a synthesiser where these connections are both more visible and exchangeable.

Without a keyboard, what is causing the notes to have timing and variety. Is it totally random or is there some kind of ‘electronic attractor’ or ‘influencer’ guiding the notes along?

@@jamesgibson3582 The source is the Sequencer, Bloom. The creator programmed a series of fixed note steps, and is using the three controls on the right - Path, Branches and Mutation - To create a "chance" result with generative variations to the fixed sequence. He did a great job, and the sound source is just one voice - Mutable Instruments Rings. The Beads and Magneto are being used as effects processors - Beads is used for reverb, I suspect Magneto is being used for delay.

Learn about signal flow. That's probably 90% of modular. You don't even really have to know what everything does. As long as you know where the signal is going, you will quickly figure things out. Signal Flow is like the "music theory" behind modular.

It’s nice, but it’s a shame you didn’t add the 4MS to build on this.
