Anchorage Airport is by far the best airport for plane spotters in the world with a keen eye for old, classic planes. Geographically advantaged, freight airlines use Anchorage as a fuel stop for routes between Asia and North America that the aircrafts aren't able to fly directly to when fully loaded, such as Hong Kong - New York.
This video focuses on the morning rush on a wet and drizzly summers day. Despite the less than ideal weather, the diversity of planes well and truely makes up for it!
I filmed this video between 6am and 2pm from beside runway 15 where there's a dirt mound that can be stood on for elevation over the fence to get a clear shot. The goal of this video is to show the diversity of airlines and aircraft that fly into ANC on a typical day for those are haven't been able to travel to this wonderful place yet, or just like to watch planes landing and taking off!
I hope you enjoy!
