The new skyrocketing rising analogous sport of PICKLEBALL is reminding that : The current table tennis version of heavyweight 2.7gram balls is full range stupid. Must immediately, as soon as possible, apply new lightweight balls of 2gram or 2.5gram balls. Heavyweight balls fly too fast because air resistence can not effective slow down them. Too difficult to control heavyweight balls, and extreme difficult to catch fast heavyweight table tennis balls. It is the reason of why almost all table tennis beginers leave out teble tennis or do not want to try playing table tennis. Need atleast few years of training for beginers in order to play amateur table tennis games of heavyweight 2.7gram balls. IT IS THE ALL-TIME HUMAN HISTORY MOST STUPID CONDITION OF SPORT TODAY IN THE AGE OF BUSY LIFE. Who will pay few years of training to reach level of playing basic amateur table tennis games ? Look at the new skyrocketing rising sport PICKLEBALL : the Pickleball federation setup very logical scientific standard for pickleball balls : the pickleball balls have very reasonable very lightweight (in the context of distances in pickleball sport), pickleball balls even have holes in ball outer surface to decrease ball weight. All of them lead to the to result : the lightweight pickleball balls fly in air with ENOUGH SLOW SPEED, so that in the distances in pickleball sport, players have enough time to react to apply techniques and tactics and get funs. And because players can succeed to react, Pickleball is very easy for beginers quickly to play basic amateur games to get funs even without any training. Players must succeed to react to balls speed. It is the first condition for sport to be human sport. I see that in many societies today, there are even more commercial PICKLEBALL CLUBS than table tennis clubs. Everyone can easily quickly play amateur pickleball games for funs and communications. While it requires few years of training for beginers to play amateur table tennis games. It is obviously quite clearly stupid in table tennis. It affects table tennis equipment manufacturers (less new beginers, less markets), spectators (waste time to watch so much offgame time of picking up table tennis balls). The most reason : STUPID HEAVY WEIGHT OF CURRENT TABLE TENNIS BALLS. So if the international table tennis can not quickly come to consensus of applying new lightweight (2-2.5gram balls) table tennis balls, then TABLE TENNIS SPORT MUST GIVE UP MORE THEIR ROOM TO PICKLEBALL SPORT IN OLYMPICS, in order to regard audience by stopping wasting time of table tennis audience in bored table tennis matches with much offgame time of going picking up balls and less ongame time of playing table tennis. The Olympics must slash more room of table tennis sport, to give more room to pickleball sport in Olympics programs, if the international table tennis society can not quickly reach to consensus of applying new lightweight 2-2.5gram table tennis balls

I feel like more than half of these extreme long rallies could be ended by the pressing player by just playing a short ball out of nowhere rather than smashing the thing harder and harder each time. If you opponent is 5 m away from the plate why do you keep exerting yourself?
@Myrslokstok
Ай бұрын
They do what is best. I do think smashing is easier, you got to controll the spin moore if you should play a lose ball, and you have the adress the shoot a lot to soo easy to read.

What you're describing is a "drop-shot", and yes it is frequently played against a lob or drive that falls rather short. What you are apparently not familiar with is the amazing speed and anticipation of high-level players, and if the drop-shot carries past the edge after it bounces, they will almost invariably retrieve it, and then the smasher is right back in the place they started with. That's the short answer. The main strategy though is that the back-court player loses most of the time, either by angled smash or awkward smash to the body when slightly out of balance.

Statistically speaking, one must multiply the odds of each occurrence happening serially…so the cumulative odds would be in the trillions to one. (.01 x .001 x .0001…etc.) Woohoo, I was actually able to use my college statistics knowledge!
