Revisiting your channel after 7 years and hearing that intro music piece made me cry . I was a clueless teenager from a remote village in India who wanted to play the piano so badly that i drew a replica of keyboard and stick it to my table and my only saviour at that time was you . I used to proudly boast to my mom and dad that you are my teacher and you are such a gem of a person . Thanks for everything Andrew . I sincerely hope we will meet in future . I will one day . Stay safe . God bless

The best way to look at this is that for every person who dislikes this video there are 19 who like it (ball park estimate) . I think that some people want to believe that music is some sort of "pure" art that can exist outside the boundries of rules . But what makes music so beautiful is that it lives within a beautifuly complex set of rules which are based upon the natural vibrations and motions of the universe.

started watching these videos during my quarantined senior year of high school in Turkey, now I came across the playlist and got emotional a bit. I was always passionate for music but did not have a conservatory background so was not sure where to start but this channel helped me learn most of what i needed on my own. I am currently in a jazz school in Paris and was even able to skip a year because I had studied a lot of theory with your channel.. so thank you and for anyone seeing this in the comments who is starting their journey today I hope this could be some motivation :)

Hi Andrew. Before of everything you're a wonderful person for doing this for free. It's very kind. For a year i wanted to start learning music theory but there's no teacher where i live and i don't have enough money to pay private lessons. Plus, i'm a very shy person so i don't lead very well with strangers. But for someway i really want to meet you one day. Continuing, i had music lessons when i was in 5th and 6th grade. And i came to the conclusion that i know nothing about what i love in my life. I had drawing the treble clef in the wrong way all this years. In this video i learnt more than i learnt in 2 years. Thank you so much. P.S: I'm portuguese. If you don't know where Portugal is, Portugal is that tiny country next to Spain. So you're getting famous around the world. You're a amazing pianist with a amazing heart.

He'll take you through everything to get you to understand theory. I used a few books alongside his videos and I'm now learning to play some pretty complex pieces. Have a grandson who plays by ear, doesn't want lessons, I told him God gave him a gift it is his responsibility to sharpen that gift not ignore it. whenever he comes over he plays for me. He is in fifth grade, and starting band, hopefully he will learn to read music. I just want to say how amazing your videos have been for me. I have ADHD and it's really difficult for me to focus on something or consistently practice something. I learned basic piano when I was young but I've wanted to really learn more about piano and music for the longest time, but ADHD makes that very difficult. Your videos have helped me not only find new things to learn, but have also allowed me to both practice practically with your piano videos, but learn music theory while doing other things like playing video games or cooking or whatever (I need multiple things happening at once in order to stay engaged and learn). Being able to learn about the music then inspires me to actually go practice more, and it creates an amazing positive feedback loop. Thank you so incredibly much for being just a genuine person using your time and abilities to help others learn at no cost.

I've always been fascinated with the piano and being able to read and play sheet music. Though I have never found anybody who could really connect with me and actually explain it the way I would understand it. I have to say thank you so very much sir. You are an inspiration and you are helping me attain my dream. Thank you so much for your lessons.

I just thought if you had over 300,000 subscribers no one has ever invited you to do a concert? With all those hits I thought a promoter would offer you something, I used to have a cable access show on T.V and it lead to so many things, I'm a pro Pianist and thought If I had that many subscribers and hits , I would be super busy preforming all over the place. Do you get anything from it? Thank you in advance for your advice. I was thinking of doing a free lesson channel as well for people. And also get internet exposer. Thanks again

Had to pause the video so that I could type this. I’ve been rapping for nearly 7 years, I’ve become really great at it. I always wanted to learn how to play an instrument but my parents wouldn’t allow me. I am now learning how to produce beats and I keep hearing, “knowing music theory would be BIG help to this journey of yours” and currently I’m saving up to get myself a piano/bass guitar because I would love to start playing an instrument. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for uploading this❤️🥺

Could this be applied to making EDM/Chillstep on Fruity Loops. I have always loved music and I figured hell why don't I try to make it. I get on Fruity Loops and I have no idea what to do everything I try to make just doesn't sound as good as my favorite songs. So I figured I'd look up some tutorials. Well all the tutorials just showed how they made a song which wasn't what I wanted to do, I want to make my own original music so then I googled music theory and here I am. So could this entire music theory lesson be helpful in my quest to make music. I'm 16 btw

Yeah sure, but I think you should have at least a MIDI keyboard first, and a program like Syllabus too.

EDM or whatever, it is still music and follows the same principal. The great thing about learning music theory is that it will open your ears and mind to different ways of creating. The bigger your vocabulary, the more choice you will have when you want to speak.
