However, I struggled quite a bit in mechanics! -- understood the concepts ok -- but froze during exams!! I wanted to ask you for ways to regain my confidence in physics and be able to not only patch up any grey areas in mechanics, but use that to springboard me into mastery of E&M! Any ideas? Worksheets, problem sets, conceptual understanding, a pep talk, anything! I've had great grades and knew how to study many high-level classes (including orgo 2!) but am struggling to apply what I know to my other science classes to physics specifically! ANYTHING HELPS! Thanks for making these fantastic videos. One remark: electric force should be a vector, and you state that it is a vector, but you give a scalar expression. Do you agree? Is there some correction you would make to the formula in the video?
@FlippingPhysics
7 жыл бұрын
I do give the scalar expression and yes I agree electric force is a vector. In general I do not give the vector expression which uses the unit vector r because I found it to be more confusing for students. I find it more understandable for students to use the scalar equation and then find the direction using a free body diagram. FYI: KZitem does not allow corrections in videos...

@@stephendroppa6487 When you follow the circuit in the opposite direction of the assumed current, I*R adds voltage to you Kirchhoff's voltage loop law calculation. When you trace opposite the direction of current, the reverse is the case.

1) AP Physics B has not been a course since about 2013. So chances are good you are either taking AP Physics 1 or AP Physics 2.
