We have these kind of street foods in Indonesia too! It's popular among students because it's cheap, you can get it for 500/1000 rupiah each which is around 0.049SGD/0.098SGD. There are 2 kinds of eggs, Quail and Chicken. I used to buy it and give a spicy sauce before it finishes cooking, it tastes so good.

It's more like "tearing" rather than "cracking" quaill eggs are much more feeble than chicken eggs but in exchange their membrane is a bit troublesome... Combined with how small they are you can imagine just how much effort you need to "crack" them open... =_=

Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my co-worker got great results with it.

No to me, I had quail eggs at Taipei Shilin market on vacation, they taste like chicken eggs. You can get high quality eggs at most USA stores if you pay more, free range or organic. The street quail eggs also made my stomach grumbly but nothing worse, I think all the handling from production to street cooking is more susceptible to bacterial contamination. Westerners are used to really clean processing of eggs. There are other really delicious things in Taiwan night market, I suggest the baked pork and green onion buns.
