aight I'll bite: Mining Expedition: this tip applies to team play and pretty much any mission but since ME has the most mining and is also the simplest mission, this will suffice. While your Scout is busy carving out the ceiling, be on the lookout for chunks that will start falling from the ceiling once the Scout's pockets are full. a Scout with platforms can have a bunch of chunks sitting on one platform, hit it and let all the chunks fall into one neat pile easy to collect, both for himself (not needing to grapple back to the ceiling), but for any engi or gunner looking for something to do after having cleared the lower portion of any room. Egg Hunt: Egg Hunt is a non-linear map type so find youself a nice clean spot to defend, preferably at the center of all or a majority of the eggs. And bonus tip, there's pretty much no downsides to pressing the button right after acquiring the last egg - wave or mini-wave - as extraction on Egg Hunt is usually very short. Point Extraction: Strong Arm is pretty good in a post-host-throwing world. So consider taking it sometimes. Bonus tip that applies to all the non-linear maps, don't always rush out of the pod right away, especially on Rival Presence, as you could have landed in the middle of 13 spitballers or right next to the turret controller. The Pod provides cover from a whopping 270 degree angle so use it to your advantage to clean the room if need be. Plus open the terrain scanner to know which direction a Nemy is in if your hear it so you know which direction to run AWAY from. Salvage: Can't find the last secondary objective? Be sure to check the tunnels that circle back to the lost Drop Pod room as they lead nowhere but can still hold a lot of ressources depending on the generation. Elimination: Elimination along with ME can have the longest extraction period usually, so not only is the spawn room a good safe place to fight dreads, it's also usually a good spot to be equidistant to all possible drop pod locations. OSR: Getting the refinery to start running ASAP is crucial, the pipes breaking will drag aggro away from you at completely no cost. The bugs will never know better to stop gnawing at the pipelines while you pump their asses with the 500 bullets or so that your Subata needs to kill them. Until the refinery starts, the announced waves are an insane time sink. You can do all the mining and ressource gathering you want for free while the refinery is working Escort: Time for some Solo tips! Bosco has a handful of practical applications on Escort. He can mine Oil Shale that is 80% guaranteed to generate way out of reach, he can be set to defend Doretta by pinging her while you go look for the last Apoca Bloom, and he will actually mine the beamers in Phase 4 if you ping them. Sabotage: Make sure to save some ressupplies for the caretaker of course but also, use your traversal tools to make access to them easier. Gunner ziplines going from the ressuplies to raised ledges in the arena, platform ceilings to protect from possible sniper spawns and rogue patrol bot missiles. As for Driller, a tunnel that goes directly above the caretaker to drop C4 (and the Shield Batteries if you shoot them!) on it will trivialize the armor phases. important to note that the engi Turrets will never, in my experience, target the caretaker's armor or eye, turrets will only shoot bots and appendages. Appendages are EXTREMELY weak to melee so be sure to always Power Swing at any that land in your viscinity.

For Industrial Sabotage: You can drill/platform above the Caretaker. When you do this, its easy to drop C4 or Fat Boy nukes onto the caretaker, which can shred its 4 separate HP bars/vent thingies, and basically skip the entire spinning phase. Also, make sure to not drop onto the Caretaker while its spinning, and definitely dont get downed. Its nearly impossible to get revived while the Caretaker is spinning (besides an instant rez). The corpse will spin with the caretaker, while the reviver will get frozen in place, causing the corpse to spin away and cancel the rez.

Funnily enough a few times with scout I used the hook to get on top of the caretaker while spinning and run up to each corner to fire into the vents at point blank range. Multiple people repairing Doretta at once either does nothing or yields a negligible increase in repair speed. So don't repair Doretta if someone is already doing it (unless they changed it?) Multiple people standing on Doretta (as far as I know) increases how fast she goes, so try not to abandon her. But the funniest tip for Escort Duty that I can think of is to run to the spawn room after the Ommoran Heartstone is retrieved, and when your team presses the button on Molly, the Drop Pod for some reason seems to always drop in the Ommoran room even though 3 of your teammates are already there. It makes Molly take less time so it's ultimately faster than having the Drop Pod spawn at the other end of the cave. I've never seen someone else try to do this, so I might just be lucky.
@hinatadola

yes this is a valid strat that very little people know about or do, when you call the drop pod in escort, it is supposed to land in the spawn room or near it. but when there is a player in the spawn room it obstructs that spawning area so the drop pod spawns further away from the spawn room, possibly dropping in the heart stone room if the map is small enough.

my #1 tip that's mission agnostic is don't try and be too ammo efficient. Use your tools, they're there for you to do stuff faster. Always annoying when I hear people mention how ammo efficient they are being as it usually means someone else has to cover killing more bugs, or waiting on certain classes that are the "proper" ones to do things instead of using your tools to do them faster than the wait. Most missions give enough extra nitra so if you need to drop one or two more resupplies because you're burning through ammo it's mostly irrelevant compared to the time saved.

1. Ties into Point Extraction tip: Frontload aquarks above other mining (unless extremely convenient), since the most difficult resource to mine and deposit is the one you have to constantly hold. It's also easier to flex a get-out-now decision if you can hit the extract button, rather than needing to go mine another aquark. 2. For PE and Egg Hunt: Both aquarks and eggs can be mined by the resupply hole, which is really helpful if you don't have a scout. 3. Situationally, you can begin to estimate how much nitra you'll actually need in the course of a mission, depending on difficulty and type. For missions like PE, Salvage, and Refining, you don't usually need all the nitra in the stage, and can focus your time on finishing the objectives faster. Never mine nitra just to spend more time to fight more enemies.

Here are some general tips I can think of: *Always check with everyone in your team when your ready. It not only polite, it can save a mission because everyone is on the same page and not getting flat footed. *There's a brief window during weapon animations that can be quickly canceled, shaving off time and getting you back to fighting more quickly. Watch the HUD and quickly tap the laser pointer button when the weapon magazine is reloaded. *You should always elect the driller on a team to be in charge of constructing pipes on oil extraction. Driller has the best tools second to Engineer to creating a tunnel network for pipes to go through and reach oil pumps. *Keep good pacing. You should be generally be prioritizing speed but when you can you should know when to slow down. When entering an unexplored room, backup and scan the perimeter for enemies and then look up at the ceiling while WALKING. Once your confident the room is safe, return to playing fast and collect whatever you need and get the GTFO to the next room or call the drop pod for evac. *When using pheromone bolts, prioritize tougher targets such as Bulks, Oppressors, Praetorians, Gaurds and Slashers. Each of these have much more staying power and will aggro more bugs due to them just being generally bigger. Mentally make a note of how long your special bolts last and count down from that number. Once you hit zero, let loose another pheromone bolt at the target to refresh the status effect. This will seriously help reduce waste and let you get the most effect out of your pheromone bolts. *Try to stay close to your team unless there's a good reason (mining nitra, kiting a horror, ect.) because a dwarf that is alone for too long is a dead dwarf.

CLASS BASED TIPS FOR ESCORT: 1. while Doretta is drilling, it is still viable for the Engi to be setting up sentries. if Doretta is digging downwards or straight, set up sentires behind her, facing her, and give them some high ground with platforms. 2. During refuel, gunner is the most efficient at refueling, as he can use his ziplines to get to higher veins of oil shale, and can hold oil canisters while on a zipline (it might be worth upgrading your zipline so it can deploy on a higher angle. additionally, if the refuel room is extremely vertical, scout can zip to the oil shale that is too high for the other classes to reach, and can mine it down, from where other classes can use the oil canisters to collect the chunks from the floor 3. during the Ommoran Heartstone battle, stage 4, an engineer can platform the tops of the beamers, allowing the scout to mind the tips of them. you don't have to mine the beamers from the bottom! Additonally, gunner can shoot the tips of the beamers with any of his 3 primaries, as they can damage terrain. as well as this, Engi can use the grenade luncher to destroy the tips of the beamers as well.

General tip - It's pretty easy to instakill Korlok Tyrant Weed with a resupply. The fact you have some control of when it opens up and that it's stationary makes this pretty trivial. Industrial sabotage - if you have the EMP overclock on engi's smg, you can set your turrets up right above the caretaker and just shoot them from afar. The blast damages all of the 4 weak points, making you get through this stage in seconds. Salvage uplink (or Black Box in deep dive) - this is a little frowned upon at times but if you feel like your team might not survive this stage or you're running low on ammo, you can have your driller drill under the uplink and then drill out a bunker. Engi can plug the entry hole and you can do the uplink safely with no bugs bothering you. Of course, if there's an oppressor, bulk, or a dread, it will dig inside your cozy bunker in no time and you're dead. That's one of the reasons it's frowned upon.

Doretta Missons: Doretta always spawns facing 210°, which if your driller drills ahead, will be pointing directly towards the Heartstone. No ‘Mission Control announced waves’ will spawn until Doretta is started. The trade off is time efficiency for lower pressure exploration.

People seem to hate industrial sabotage but, I think it's a lot of fun I also don't think it's incredibly difficult even on haz 5. Some tips that I would give (focusing on the final fight) 1. Highground, high enough to avoid the repulsar blast means instead of dodging you can focus on damage. 2. Spacing, take long range weaponry and give yourself enough space to get a full view of the battlefield this extra space and view gives you more time to react to threats and you are less likely to be surprised. 3. tight angles, use the terrain to your advantage and if there isn't any good terrain then make some with the platforms the drills or your pickaxe holding a tight angle on a thick enough wall will allow you to duck behind it from either tentacle stabs or sniper turrets just make sure you have enough space to dodge warp bombs 4. Target priority, people spend a lot of time and ammo on the tentacles and I would highly advise against it. It will only ever spawn 4 at a time but they will always come back the more ammo spent on them the less ammo you have for the caretaker. These tentacles will despawn as "phases" change honestly these missions are always the most successful for me the less time I spend on them. I'll take the electric boomerang and zapem then mag dump right into the caretaker reload and repeat speaking of which is the same strat I use against tyrant vines and it works very well against them. 5. Patience, don't panic and make a bad situation worse it's better that when shit does hit the fan you or your allies are in a decent location to pick up instead of out in the open. Stay close and stay smart. 6. Have fun, bringing negativity in right from the get go will almost ensure a bad experience. Not everyone is going to enjoy every mission type but if you must do it for an assignment lower the difficulty a notch and try not to bring the whole team down.

*HOW DID YOU PREDICT MY RECOMMENDED DOWN TO THE T?* Anyways, I actually like Industrial Sabotage so my one tip is building walls of cover or tunnels underground as driller to have an easy way to escape from the boss's attacks, as the only things that can chase behind that would be the shredder drones or patrol bots, easy place for resupplies and avoid getting shot while not having to just run super far away from the boss. I always play the mission as Engie because I build my sentries on top of these walls for them to shoot down the robot limbs.

Use resupply pods to mine hard to reach things. Ceiling red sugar, ceiling crystals like aquargs or jadiz , can be acquired easy by using a supply pod to drill it out. Looking directly up with lazer pointer is an easy way to get the position correct. Lithophage cleaning kits can do the same thing.

I've found that it's handy to split up into two teams for mining ops, having engie/scout clear out large rooms, with driller/gunner clearing out minerals in the tunnels, that way the team is always progressing. Scout/engie have molly, and can pick up minerals that the gunner/driller team left behind when catching up

STOP SHOOTING BUGS No, seriously. In multiplayer, the best players can tell when a bug is going to be an issue and they (you) need to shoot it. For example, you are playing scout, and you are the first to notice a wave of grunts charging down the wall at your team. Your driller WILL see this and kill them with horrifying efficiency. You cannot kill them with horrifying efficiency, so you are probably better off dropping a ping and continuing to stand watch. You save ammo and you aren't distracted when a menace spawns and needs to die right this instant. Same goes for drillers. If you can't really do much against a mactera grabber very fast/cheap with your kit, (most kits have a few blindspots) the best thing to do is ping it and then go back to holding the line against grunts. Pings are powerful. A pinged grabber is a lot less dangerous than pingless ones. And you saved ammo for you and your team. Drillers and scouts are extremes, but this applies to any class. If you know your engi has nuclear capabilities, and you see a stupidly large swarm, just don't bother. You have seconds before the engi pops a nuke and the whole swarm dies. Wait for the fallout to do everything it can, then finish them off. If you see bugs and shoot, you are wasting your own ammo and arguably the Engis too. If its life or death, it's arguable that doing anything other than holding or spamming M1 is a poor idea, and I would agree. Just know what your teammates are going to do, what they can do, and think before you shoot. In most missions, this won't be relevant. But it's just good practice in general.

A small one but one that may be impactful for any mission type. If someone disconects or is kicked they will drop thier backpack with all its contents inside. This includes *primary and secondary objectives as well as nitra*! Which is why it's a good thing that pulling out your laser pointer will always highlight it through walls as if it were a dwarf, even without clicking it. It looks like a 3D hexagon and is metalic grey, so if you see anything that looks kind of hexagonal as a white outline, you should probably seek it out. It is considered a heavy object though so You'll need to carry it like an Aquark or Jadiz. It could have a full 45 nitra and some fossils for all you know!

A very general tip mostly for Haz4/5 and EDD: Think of your team as a wrecking ball. This mission is a smash and grab, don't linger in any single place too long. Stay together but keep pressing forward. When I'm on a mission with a tight fast team, we crush caves; and I can't count the times missions went into the frying pan because we sat around too long.

Personal industrial sabotage is my favorite mission in drg. I like how I’m not getting rushed by swarms like a soft time limit like some other missions and how the boss fight is fun and is not the same each time since it will spawn different defenses. Cave leeches are newbie kryptonite imo. With so many good perks in the game it feels like a waste to go with the heightened senses perk, so my advice is to play scout and look up and fire flares upon entering a new cave. This is the highest counter, but if you don’t like scout then you can also use the laser pointer to scan the dark roof, it will let you know when you’re hovering a cave leech and you can kill it. You can’t always be scanning the roof while exploring, but just glancing up when you get to a new cave section can do the trick, as the cave leech will light up as it’s reaching for you. This isn’t 100% foolproof like with scout, cause sometimes the buggers like to hide behind stalactites, so my final piece of advice is to learn the audio cue very well, and ingrain it into your brain to spin when you hear it to try and locate the leech as fast as possible to kill it before it grabs you.

For Green Beards: - When refilling Doretta, laser the oil shale closest to the wall. The larger portion will break off and sit on the ground making it easy to collect without missing any. Idle hands during this segment can mine behind the shale to drop it down from tough to reach spots. - If you have a cave horror, keep pinging it so nobody gets caught off guard. - When laying down pipes in a driller's tunnel, put it as close as you can to the wall, as it clears out additional space around the pipe segments, widening the tunnel. - If you don't ping chunks of gold at least 30 times before moving from your location, Karl himself will come down from the heavens and smite the shit out of you.

mining: one of the worst things that happened to me was being in a mission late at night trying to find every drop of morkite because, for some reason, it didn't spawn enough morkite. this seemed to have been something that happened on one of the deep dives recently. to avoid this, mine veins by hand instead of letting bosco fling stuff away or destroying the crumbs (i don't think he stores it to drop a lump, and won't either way) until you're sure you have the required amount, or hope dark morkite's on tap. if you are soloing, scout is best class. one mission had a room so big i could barely light up everything, with big drops everywhere. without the grappling hook and super flares it would of been a nightmare. gunner is the worse, seeing as the zipline needs a rework bad. also, REALLY RECONSIDER doing oxygen hazards, and be sure to check above you before you drop a resupply. while it's still pretty linear at times, some map generations can be a maze and you do not want molly running up a hole you can't follow because it's the shortest route. i doubt engi's will remember to plug the hole. mining is easily my least favorite mission. egg hunt: fun for the whole dwarf family. don't diss 4 egg missions, all the special events in the game can and have spawned in this small 2 room map. salvage: needless to say, scout's least favorite map while engineer's favorite. while the extra legs DO spawn bugs, they also are a small light source if you're missing said scout. (wonder how strong arm is with chunks to provide light instead of just depositing them?) you don't need to send molly back right away, drag her and the kids around until you've mined all you want. point extraction: if you have trouble motivating yourself to move faster, this'll do the trick. i sure love that one time i was trying to grab a floating fossil as a gunner, because thanks drop pod, all the while my haz 3 turned into a haz 5 as i was still in my strip mining phase and didn't know how bad it could get. really, get friends and speed run this. there's gold elsewhere. DONT FIGHT ON THE MINEHEAD. the buggers can bite you through it as well as climb under and behind you. really need to have repellent depositors to funnel the glyphids up the ramps. dreadnaughts: remember, hazards that spawn enemies will continue to spawn enemies. might want to skip those. breach cutter go VRRRRRT drilldozer: grab at least 80 nitra and just rush to the heartstone and then drop supply. after you finish the mission, you can leisurely stroll back up the path to collect and mine. also, you do not HAVE to return doretta's head to the drop pod. she won't wonder why she was left behind to die alone in the dark after suffering bug attacks and being compelled to destroy herself by drilling into some alien rock by her programming. you're not a monster. also, zipline is really good here with all the heavy objects and doretta. gunner is the best, scout naturally has a hard time. when i was just learning engineer i lost one of these. hardest starter in the game... on site refinery: this mission makes 'it's a bug thing' mandatory, and makes mining optional. it's also great if you do want to spend a lot of time mining as this mission is rich in the stuff. always consider doing this mission if there's an oxygen hazard. you just build your air wherever you're going. DONT FIGHT ON THE RIG! bugs can climb under the platform and surprise you, also lot's of blocked vision. best to find a nice spot to fight and build pipes to quickly get there. industrial sabotage: you're here for the epic boss fight. i have been able to run c4 charges up to the caretaker and hit multiple vents and get off before the shock. i've learned this because being able to quickly blow up robots with a flamethrower is pretty good, but terrible once you have to fight anything at range.

On Egg missions, try to plan out which eggs you want to pull ahead of time; if you have a couple of eggs closer together, save them so you can pull both of them either at the end of the mission, so you can skip the swarm(s) they may spawn. Alternatively, if your team is really good on nitra/ammo, you can save a bit of time and ammo by pulling both at the same time. Just be careful if you're on the higher haz levels with this; calculate your chances of getting a double swarm, and make sure you can deal with it if it does happen.
@chastermief839

Newbie friendly tips here: Morkite: Morkite is the mission objective, but Nitra will keep you alive. Grab Nitra first, then Morkite, then minerals like Jadis or Bismor, and finally gold. Eggs: Like all mission objectives, dropped Eggs will show up with YELLOW icons on your terrain scanner. So if you can't get to molly and the swarm gets on you, you can ditch the egg and come back to grab it later. Don't die for it. Salvage: If the fuel cells or blackbox are in an inconvenient location, you can sometimes mine away at the ground to make them drop to a lower level. a "good location" means you have plenty of room to move around, and have clear sights on bugs while they are approaching you, even if it's along a wall or ceiling. a BAD location is one where the team's movement is restricted, and the bugs can sneak up on you from below a ledge, or crawl on top of you from around a corner. Fuel cells on flat ground backed up to a large, sheer cave wall are good. Fuel cells on the precipice of a ledge or in a narrow crevice in the wall are BAD. (Tip: it's a lot easier to make a BAD location a GOOD location if you have a driller and/or an engineer) Point Extraction: Like the video says, more bugs spawn in the later parts of this mission. Extraction can be nasty. Keep in mind that you don't have molly for this mission, and once you launch the minehead to begin extraction, you *cannot deposit anything until the droppod arrives*. (Remember: You can always deposit on the side of the drop pod.) Escort: It's easier (but slower) to skip gold, minerals, and optional objectives until after you've beaten the hearthstone boss. Until that point, Dotty must be protected and you have an additional failstate to worry about. Afterwards the mission is quite leisurely and you can take your time to clear out the caves and do side objectives. If you're really quick about refueling (ignore gold, ignore minerals, JUST focus on fueling up), you can even refuel dorreta before the swarms spawn which makes this method extra safe. Refinery: There's no mule on this mission, so the same tip in Point Extract applies here. However, you can speed things up by laying pipe framework as soon as possible. This makes it easier to get back to the deposit, which is super handy if you have a lot of heavy mineral chunks (Enor Pearls, Jadiz, Compressed Gold, etc) or if you have gunk seeds. It's also handy for navigating and regrouping with the team. Sabotage: Don't resupply or try to revive downed team members when phase bombs are firing. Just keep your cool, keep your patience, focus on dodging, then when the bombs are done, go in for resupply and revives.

Morkite: This is a great mission for scout to be "Lighting up!" Sometimes morkite spawns up by the ceiling and you can miss it just running around. Share the Molly, since you'll be feeding her a lot on this run. Eggs: Eggs have a surprising amount of material surrounding them. Don't be afraid to check the terrain scanner to see if you should go up or down. Or just blow them up. Salvage: Cover the area above the zone in platforms and set up, backs against a wall with turrets at the front. This funnels the bugs into a sort of cone in front of the team, instead of them crawling on the walls right behind you. Extraction: In addition to periodically spawning them, *this mission does not announce swarms.* The time between waves gets smaller as time goes on, and eventually waves start to stack on each other. Gotta go fast! Sometimes aquarqs spawn in the ceiling, keep an eye out! Also...don't fight on the minehead. Despite it looking like a good place to fight, bugs can actually bite you through the platform. Escort: Always save Doretta. But more seriously, Doretta always points towards 220 on the compass. If you have a driller, you can rip through the walls and premine all the nitra before starting Doretta. Especially useful on deep dives where there's something else to handle. Refinery: Pipes are as much for transportation as they are for connecting to pump jacks. Being able to jump on a pipe and zip away from a swarm or to a downed teammate can save runs. Elimination: Ziplines are your friend. If you're in a party, a couple of the other dwarves can bait aggro on the ground, while you're hanging above, away from the ground slam, free to put rounds into weak spots as they pop up. Sabotage: The key is a wide, flat area, about at the height of the top of the boss. You want that area to be elevated so the patrol bots are forced to fly to get to you, wide enough to dodge left and right around the repulsion waves, and deep enough to take cover from sniper turrets or dodge bombs. Also, drop a resupply up there. Driller and/or engineer can make this happen. For a not boss tip, igniting robots instantly kills them.

For Escort Duty missions: If you wish to avoid backtracking or even needing to deal with dedicated waves in general to focus on the loot aspect? It's actually possible to dig ahead of the Drilldozer once it has been dropped down and clear out the caves ahead of time. Any bugs that spawned cannot damage her in her Cage and will completely ignore her until she's activated. Of course, I would recommend this only if you have a Driller even if the mission is in Fragile Terrain or you have a Rocky Mountain in effect. The distance between these caverns is unpredictable so it is far less painful to let a driller do his job here. It also allows for Oil Shale to be prepared for Rapid Collection by disconnecting it from the walls as small chunks on the ground to the point you can actually have Dorretta refueled before the first response wave even spawns in. Oh! If you do go ahead with this? Constant vigilance of your Terrain Scanner is key to finding where to go for the next cave and how one should enter it

One tip that I was given for escort missions is that one can protect doretta's head from the flying rocks by using platforms and from bugs by dropping a shield on her. Bugs tend to favor one side of the drilldozer, but maybe that's just me seeing things. I tend to put a shield on doretta's left side because that's where bugs tend to go for first. Got me out of a few close scrapes on hazard 4. I've not tried it on hazard 5 because I am not a masochist and I'm not going to test things on that difficulty. If you play any mission in the radioactive exclusion zone, all you need to do is destroy the glowing middle, the part that looks like it's glowing brighter than the rest, of the radioactive crystals. You don't need to mine the base of the crystal, or destroy the whole thing to get it to stop. A few well placed shots at the center should destroy it and render the whole crystal inert. Similarly, one can shoot the beam spire tips in escort missions if they either don't have a driller or can't be bothered to mine out the base of the beam spires. Works best if you have a gunner with a bulldog and elephant rounds, but two or three shots from a stock bulldog ought to do the trick. All game types: if you are in the fungus bogs and you see a xenofungus you must ping it. Mushroom. Similarly if you see a bitter gem, compressed gold, error cube, or anything, ping it. Ping big enemies as well. Especially bulk detonators. And my friend group does this but I'm not sure if anybody else does, if you ping a bulk detonator and you have a microphone, do your best Joseph Joestar impression and say "Ooooh mah goooooddd!"

The best piece of tech for Escort missions is that Doretta is completely invulnerable until she's started up for the first time. This may be more of a hazard lvl tip, but it concerns 1 specific mission type: If you wanna try and get used to higher hazards, try starting by doing elimination missions on those hazards first. This may seem counterintuitive at first, but since so long as youre dealing with a dreadnought, no new swarms will spawn, these missions will give you a lot more control over the enemy spawns while youre still getting used to them.

This is pretty obvious, but, OBJECTIVE. COMES. FIRST. As in, if you're 20min into a Point Extract because your driller spent his time mining gold instead of rushing aquarks, don't go and start the machine event. Just try to leave. It's infintely better to skip an event than to lose an entire mission, not only credits and xp wise, but also psychologically. The feeling of "i didn't do that event" isn't remotely as bad as "i just wasted 20 mins of my life". Speaking from experience when playing an aquark mission, we were 17min in with everything but a data deposit done and i told the other players "let's go i don't think we have time for hackc" but didn't call it out of courtesy. Next thing i know they started hackc. I barely made it out alive lol

This is one of the areas of player mentalities that I'm still trying to wrap my head around because I see it all the time but I've never really been able to relate. Coz for me, losing sucks sometimes, but unless I wasn't having any fun at all, I always count it as something worth experiencing even if it didn't have the desired outcome. My view basically boils down to "If I got nothing or near to out of X, it's a waste." Which rarely happens as far as gaming in general is concerned.

Industrial Sabotage: Engie’s platforms can be placed like overhangs to block sniper turret spawns. If stacked on alternating edges, your platforms can also make a decent sized wall to guard from patrol bots and the appendage shots, as well as give a safer resupply spot behind it. Gunner can do the Mole trick on the wall stack if they’re running the coilgun. Your turrets can be placed on top and refilled from underneath safely to deal with swarmer drones and the like.

As for tips: never play Point Extraction unless you have to... kidding, it's actually the best mission type for farming Cargo Crates/Lost Packs because the spawns of these things relate to mission length. Maximum mission length (3 steps/10 Aquarqs) gives a 35% chance to spawn a Cargo Crate and Lost Pack (the helmet), respectively (and yes, you can encounter both in the same mission, but that's naturally only an about 1/8 chance).

On-site Refining: if you stay near the refinery while the drop pod arrives, it will land near one of the pumpjacks. you can ride the pipeline to that pumpjack and get into the drop pod with little hassle. Escort Mission: once you've cracked open the Ommoran Heartstone, you have an opportunity to go back through the caves and complete any secondary objectives or optional events before calling in the drop pod. take that opportunity. additionally, digging out the terrain around a node of oil shale is often more effective than using the fuel canister to suck it all up off the terrain. general advice: if you have a Crassus Bulk Detonator spawn in, lure it into one of the smaller tunnels of the map to kill it. if you have a driller on your team(or are the driller yourself), let them take the time to use their drills and dig out the earth around the gold. then, when they're almost finished and only a small bit of terrain is holding the gold up, use the pickaxe to get the gold to drop all in one area for easy collection.

Power attacks to the vents can do a good chunk of damage if nothing else. You can also fire into the vents from on top of it, but the spinning does make this quite difficult and disorienting. Also, in case you didnt know yet, robots die instantly when overheated, including the Caretakers tentacles. That said, the Caretake itself is still immune to overheating.

When he said, DO NOT PLAY INDUSTRIAL SABOTAGE, and then cut to the ending, I actually left the video! thinking that it actually had ended! BRUH.

Here are 2 tips for fellow engineers. Industrial sabotage, but not only: I'm a few months late to this, but still i'll leave it here, becouse i haven't actually seen anyone doing this. Engineers, remember that your excess platforms, especially on industrial sabotage, where the terrain in most cases is flat can be used as walls. Place supply pods behind them and you've got some "save points". Of course laser attacks, i mean those huge repulsor walls will go through your barricade... also mines... and after a few attacks also arms, but hey, if you can give someone a few more seconds to resupply it may save his live... or maybe yours. O.M.E.N. (spoilers!!! do not read before promotion): You can place your platforms (3) on O.M.E.N. platforms, to practically ignore its plasma lazers for a short time. It still should be enough to disable the bottom layer.

1: Keep your head on a swivel. Most of the time you're downed by a hostile (as opposed to friendly fire or gravity) it's because you didn't see the bug that got you. This is especially egregious with slashers because if they sneak up on you, you're stunned, and other bugs now get a nibble too. 2: Always be progressing the objective. It's so easy to get caught up mining gold, extra nitra, or looking for secondary's, but these auxiliary tasks do not make the mission successful. Constantly ask yourself if you're progressing the mission, and if the answer is no, then you should have a good reason. 2.5: As an adjunct to this tip - in the caretaker fight, it's super easy to blow through all of your nitra working down the robot arms, patrol bots, etc. and end up without enough firepower to down the caretaker itself. Only fight the defenses that you need to, save those precious bullets for the giant bullet sponge standing between you and a successful mission. Also - for anyone who didn't know, an impact axe to the head is a one shot kill on the robot arms. 3: Stay out of the line of fire! If I had a dime for every time I've seen a dwarf run right into a minigun stream or engi's lazer beam and get downed by friendly fire they could have seen and avoided, I could buy a new PC by now. Seriously folks - STOP running smack into obvious lines of ongoing fire! 4: Refuel canisters pick up oil shale chunks off the ground much faster than they mine it out of a vein. Since it takes so much pickaxe time to mine it, that's not economical, however, a driller's C4 and EPC with thin containment can both mine it down instantly, making refueling SO much faster. If you have Rocky Mountain brew, then mining out the rock the shale is attached to can also be a real help to refueling speed.

Tip, when falling you can actually vault "over" Pretorians, Oppressors, Bet-C, the Mule and other dwarves, which will break your fall and cause you to take no fall damage. There is also a chance that you can "vault over" terrain outcroppings which will also break your fall.

Here's a tip for all missions: Don't be a speedrunner. Don't rush the main objective(s) and summon the droppod without asking your team-mates, effectively denying them all every single goodie/event on the map.
