I have been very fortunate to have had an opportunity to ride a Trident 660 several times now and I absolutely love it! It is so much fun and it's so torque ridden in the low RPMs--it's very forgiving if you find yourself in the wrong gear. My girlfriend's daughter bought one of these and I have been teaching her on how to ride it, along with all of my acquired defensive driving skills I've pickup from years of driving 18 wheelers and with my years of safety training in construction and oil and gas industries. I am hoping that my imparted knowledge will help to keep her safe as she navigates riding around all of these crazy aggressive drivers out on the roads today. Anyway, the 660 is such a great bike! I really want one but I think would graduate up to a Street Triple 765 RS. The 765 still gets really great mpg but has more features and more power. The 1200 only gets like 37 mpg so I think that the 765 would be the perfect balance in the middle for me--but there is certainly nothing wrong with this 660. It's the first 3 cylinder I've EVER ridden and I would NOT go back to a 4 cylinder because of it! Triples just sound way too awesome to give that great sound up--and especially with their much flatter torque curves, seems like a no-brainer to me.

Nice review, note your comments on a tank pad. Tank pads are something I have never understood it’s a bit like keeping the plastic covers on seats. Tank pads might stop scratching but they stop it on a part of the bike you’ll never see because it’s covered with a tank pad. I never add one and if I do happen to get any small scratches then it’s easy to cover them with a tank pad before you sell👍

Thanks, Gareth. Mods video coming next week :) I sold my Street Triple because I honestly got tired of going everywhere 'at 100mph'. It was just too frantic as I got older. a moto esta de facto muito bem acabada , mas ja vi uma a puxar seu topseped , e vi seu desenvolvimento e sinseramente e apesar de certas melhorias , em relaçao a famosa mt 07 , no creio que vá conseguir destronar seu lugar , creio que a mt 07 ainda é a moto mais divertida da classe , mas tbm depende de quem a compra,.. ambas serao boas , mas acredito q a 07 ainda é mais radical, mais bruta ,..mas é bom, que outras marcas tbm se cheguem a frente com bons produtos , e neste caso a marca inglesa se esmerou ,..é sem duvida uma exelente alternativa !

I think the Trident makes the perfect first bike. Easily fast enough so you won't get bored (like on a CB500X or a restricted 48hp machine), but not stupidly fast like my Street Triple was. The Trident is comfortable enough for long-distance tours, but you would need to find a good solution for luggage... Good luck :)
