Boy not only is the video incredibly informative in simplest terms possible, it is also shot in supreme quality - light, focus, sound and editing is just spot on. Many of such tutorial videos are shot in poor light, wandering focus, voice not matching what is being shown on the screen etc but none of that here. Subscribed. Can you make a performance review video w/ NX cogs, SLX rd w/ XT shift and chain? My NX cogs is 2ndhand from marketplace, and the XT shifter w/ SLX RD was bought from unauthorize dealer(smuggled) that is why its way more cheaper even its original, while the XT chain is legit. Because i have that setup installed 3 days ago and i can't get the perfect tune. My suspicion since the XT shifter and SLX was it didn't pass the quality check. Thank you!

May i know. Why i should buy shimano groupset over sram?
@sebastianjost
3 жыл бұрын
At least where I live, Shimano groupsets are quite a bit cheaper. But both systems shift very well, when adjuster properly. There are also some differences that just come down to personal preference: - On Shimano you can shift with your index finger, on SRAM only with your thumb. - the shifters are shaped very differently. From my experience SRAM is better for larger hands, while Shimano is better for smaller hands. - SRAM derailleurs have a cage lock, that makes taking out the wheel much easier. They also have a clutch that doesn't need servicing, contrary to Shimano. - Shimano (XT and XTR) allows for 4 shifts at once into easier gears and 2 at once into harder gears. For SRAM these numbers are 5 and 1 instead. - Shimano brakes use mineral oil, SRAM uses DOT-fluid, with which you have to be a bit more careful. - I find Shimano brakes much easier to bleed. - SRAM offers carbon cranks, Shimano only has alloy cranks. Some people want carbon options. - Shimano cassettes require Micro-spline Freehubs, SRAM uses the XD-Hub. If you already have one of those, it may be cheaper to choose a cassette that fits. Not all manufacturers offer Micro-spline hubs. - SRAM offers electronic shifting, Shimano only has that option for older groupsets. This is about every difference I can think of right now. There are probably a few more but this should give you a good idea.

Everything functions properly kzitem.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Nothing was damaged in the box aside from a decal on the fork. The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of KZitem. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!

Thumbs up for the video. Really well done! I have one question: he says in the video "on the derailleur screw you can use loctite grease or anti-seize" and then he uses a threadlocker glue. Does'nt that defeat the purpose? You don't want it to lock up too much because you wanna be able to get the derailleur off if you have to change it or align the derailleur hanger. I have never seen anyone do that :O

After shorten the chain 2 links and readjusting the chaintention it works finaly flawless. Kind regards.

I am confused about the cable install. And I have a bet now with a mate that you've got this backwards. When installing the cable, you say at @11:11 to “upshift the lever so you’re in the hardest gear first”, shouldn't you be pressing the LOWER paddle? Hardest gear = smallest cog = downshift (lower paddle). You want to release all the cable OUT of the housing before install, not pull it all IN, yes?
