One thing I’m impressed with on my 24’Z06 is the cooling. Driving home on I-75 in Florida can get the temp up to 208 in traffic but as soon as it opens up, it drops 40 degrees to a cool 168 in like 2 minutes! GM learned from the C7 and those 5 radiators really keep the car cool in Florida driving!🇺🇸

People here in germany are telling, that the c 8 z06 starts at 100K in the US. Thats without taxes, right? Here in Germany the c8 z06 begins at 185K Euros and everybody talks about how cheap it would be in USA. The build quality in the interior is outstanding. Not worse than german cars. Years ago this was very different and we in germany always complained about the interior. Outstanding car. Also interesting that there exists no official acceleration data. In Germany the c8 zo6 was measured 2,7 seconds 0-100 kmh (0-60 milies/hour) und 6,7 seconds 100-200 kmh (60-130 miles/hour). Thats inside. Lap times also very good. With special options people are paying over 200K for this car in germany and I think its worth it compared to Porsche GT3s, Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

We all know how dealers talk one game and change up when bringing out the paperwork.

Back in the 90s when I had my ZR1 in Ft Lauderdale it was the same thing, nobody outside my local independent Chevy dealer knew how to deal with the 32 valve engine. Corvette used to have a competition every year for Corvette mechanics and the winner wins a base model Corvette that generally focused on the most complicated model, ZR-1 C06, find one of those winners. Any good Corvette dealership should be able to do a factory 4 wheel alignment, but after some autocross with a friend who had a similar ZR1 I go to an independent alignment shop with my own set of numbers.

The rattle on your door is probably the door open/close button. That’s what it is on mine at least. Try lightly holding the button (don’t press it to open the door obviously) and see if that stops the sound. Unfortunately, if that’s the case, it’s gonna be hard to fix. Buttons have to have some level of looseness in them in order to be able to travel/move up and down and not be over constrained. If you have them replace the button, it’s gonna be a crap shoot based on the tolerance stack between the new replacement button and your door as to whether the problem actually gets fixed… Coming from somebody who used to mechanically design infotainment… Hope this helps (fwiw the rattle bothers the hell out of me too, but I just turn the Bose system up some more 😄)

Yes, door panel rattles are a known issue for the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06, as well as other C8 models. These rattles can be quite annoying and may arise from several sources. Here are some common causes and potential solutions:Common Causes of Door Panel Rattles:Loose Components: Over time, screws and fasteners securing the door panels and internal components can become loose, leading to rattles.Speaker Vibration: The powerful speakers in the C8 Z06 can cause vibrations that lead to rattling, especially if the mounting or insulation is insufficient.Weather Stripping and Seals: Worn or improperly installed weather stripping and seals can cause noise as the car moves and vibrates.Interior Trim: Various pieces of interior trim can vibrate against each other or against the door panel, leading to rattles.Potential Solutions:Tightening Fasteners: Inspect the door panel and tighten any loose screws or fasteners. This often requires removing the door panel to access the internal components.Adding Insulation: Adding additional insulation or foam padding around the speakers and between the door panel and the frame can help dampen vibrations and reduce rattles.Checking and Replacing Weather Stripping: Inspect the weather stripping around the doors. Replace any worn or damaged sections to ensure a snug fit and reduce noise.Securing Interior Trim: Apply adhesive felt or foam padding between trim pieces that might be causing the rattle. Ensure that all trim pieces are securely fastened and not vibrating against each other.Professional Inspection: If the rattle persists, consider taking the car to a professional. They can use specialized tools and techniques to identify and resolve the source of the rattle.Steps to Remove Door Panels (General Guide for C8 Corvette):Remove Door Handle Trim: Carefully pry off the trim around the door handle to access hidden screws.Remove Screws and Fasteners: Locate and remove all screws and fasteners securing the door panel. These are typically found near the edges and behind trim pieces.Detach the Door Panel: Gently pull the door panel away from the door frame, starting at the bottom and working your way up. Be cautious of any electrical connectors for power windows, locks, and speakers.Inspect and Tighten: Once the door panel is removed, inspect for loose components, add insulation as needed, and tighten any screws or fasteners.By addressing these potential causes and following the suggested solutions, you can significantly reduce or eliminate door panel rattles in your Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06.

Adjusting the rear caster of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 involves precise work and typically requires specialized tools and knowledge. Here is a general guide on how to adjust the rear caster:Preparation:Tools and Equipment: You will need a car lift or jack and stands, a set of wrenches, a torque wrench, and potentially a caster/camber gauge.Safety: Ensure the car is parked on a flat, level surface. Engage the parking brake and use wheel chocks to secure the vehicle.Steps to Adjust Rear Caster:Lift the Car: Safely lift the car using a car lift or jack and jack stands, ensuring the rear wheels are off the ground.Locate the Suspension Components: Identify the rear suspension components, specifically the control arms and caster adjustment points.Loosen the Bolts: Loosen the bolts on the rear control arms where they connect to the chassis. This might involve both the lower and upper control arms depending on the adjustment design.Adjust the Caster: Adjust the caster angle by either moving the control arms forward or backward. Some vehicles might have eccentric bolts or adjustable arms specifically designed for this purpose.Tighten the Bolts: Once the desired caster angle is achieved, tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque settings using a torque wrench.Verify the Adjustment: Lower the vehicle and check the caster angle using a caster/camber gauge. Make fine adjustments as needed.Notes:Professional Alignment: It's often recommended to have a professional alignment shop perform this adjustment to ensure precision. Incorrect adjustments can affect vehicle handling and tire wear.Manufacturer Specifications: Always refer to the specific service manual for the C8 Z06 for precise specifications and procedures, as they may vary slightly.Final Steps:After adjustments, take the car for a test drive to ensure it handles correctly. If unsure or uncomfortable with this process, seek assistance from a professional mechanic or alignment specialist.

The wheels that you've got on that car actually fit better than the stock wheels and they look better. I've never understood why companies cannot put wheels and tires on cars that actually fit the car. They're usually too small and they sit inside the fender. Also one more thing. I love the look of that car but one thing they should have added from the factory is one motion vertical Lambo doors. It needs Lambo doors and I'm not talking about the two motion that goes out and then up. I'm talking about one motion where it goes out and up in one solid motion. There's a company called one motion vertical doors that probably makes a setup for that car. But that car should have came Factory with Lambo doors

My thoughts exactly about the wheels. There was a lot of rumor early on with the C8 that lambo doors were going to happen... Kinda surprised it didn't.

LOL at approx 2:38, revs the engine and a good-sized puff of black smoke blasts out. Plugs carboned up from chugging the engine along too much. Simple solution: let the engine do what it's meant to do, perform.

How is the torque of the Z06 compared to the Z51 Stingray for every day driving? If I sell my Stingray and get a Z06, will I be disappointed in the performance when I am not driving the car hard? As a race of a high RPM race car, I know I would love the Z06 on the track and when pushing it hard on the street....just curious...
