@4:00. I was just thinking many of those abandoned sites could be re-purposed for filming shoots, at fairly low cost to a production company. Of course, too remote and there are increased costs of housing the cast and crew, managing the equipment, and of course Craft Services. Things to consider.

Well first ya gotta get them to want to live in the middle of nowhere. All the people with the money and the means to do anything left years ago. There are reasons for that. You can't rehab everything and some places just need to go back to dust.

Years ago (probably the late 1980s) I was forced to stop at that Halloran gas station as the radiator was overheating. There was a mechanic on duty, and he determined it was a stuck thermostat. 9:09 The C-54 missing its tail and left outer wing has an interesting backstory: Over two weeks in the winter of 1944, students at Maine Township High School, Park Ridge, IL, raised over $550,000 to buy War Bonds, and as a reward, this plane was named after the school, with the inscription _"Faster and Higher - That's Maine's Flyer"_ . The plane saw service in the last months of the war as a hospital transport. 75 years later in 2019, Len Johnson of the Park Ridge Historical Society was given permission to salvage parts from the plane's cockpit and returned them to Illinois to create a display for the Society's museum. He even repainted the slogan on the plane's nose - but that's now apparently graffitied over again.

@jessiesdroneadventures7464 Indeed, one of my sources is a KZitem channel called "Minty's Comedic Arts" ,he did a segment called " 10 things you didn't know about Cherry 2000", he is very informative about movies. And, of course IMDB. Be safe.

I remember seeing a story on another video recently about a guy who went into the Royal Hawaiian late one night and got chased out by a tweeker. The story sounded like a zombie encounter...

Newberry Springs, Desert Center contain abandoned structures, yet remain legit residential communities. Trona should have made the list. Has a cozy, well-maintained neighborhood, but is otherwise a spooky ghost town.

i used to get out to see these places a lot when I drove a tow truck for Triple-A. I especially remember Desert Center 'cause I ran out of gas there and had to steal fuel from the vehicle I was towing. I think I remember an airport out there too. Mebbee.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if a philanthropist would reignite a ghost town and make it acceptable for living for the homeless and programs for mental health work education and so forth. Philanthropic organizations help

that would be wonderful, but it wouldnt work here. wood is rotten, moldy, and falling apart. and all these buildings are filled with rodent feces, snakes, and scorpions

I dunno. I just might in the not too distant future just buy a few acres here and there in these spots, make a few repairs and make a BFE rentals, LLC or something just because somewhere somebody might just want to stay a spell in BFE for no reason other than to say they were there. Or maybe just me. Play the part of that old batshit crazy hermit just for shitz n gigglez. At least one of my kids is already up for the adventure and so is the Mrs. I already live in NW coast of CA and it can get remote up there, and one can easily get lost in all the trees, but the vast, quietness of the desert is....peaceful.

Funny forget to add Keeler, CA. It's classified as a ghost town, but they still have a post office, and a couple of good folks living there. Post office looks new, but the rest of the town is completely run down.
