I recently finished The Powder Mage trilogy, it's incredible I read all 3 back to back to back because I just couldn't stop. I also love how much personality Ka-Poel is given without any dialogue at all, there probably are other books that pull that off too but this is by far the best I've personally seen it done.

The only one of these I’ve had the pleasure of reading is Red Rising. It and its sequel were so hard to put down!!! About to Morning Star after a nice pallet cleaner of Guards Guards. The rest of this list will have to go on the ol TBR

Red Rising but better? How dare! Fighting words! Jokes asides, the more you talk about The Will of the Many the more I need to resist the urge to give up TBR to read it myself. Do you know if it will be a trilogy or a longer series? Also, have you seen the Broken Binding's special edition of Powder Mage? They just announced it!

Hahahahaha! I know the statement is bold! But that is why Thai is in the picture. If things really go south and you hate it, I will forever say it was her!! I hope you pick it up soon tho! I believe it’s a trilogy! But after checking it now the information isn’t confirmed 🫠!! Yes!!! I saw it! I think it’s time for my wallet to get acquainted with the Broken Binding 🥰🫡

Awesome recommendations! Warbreaker. Yes! Manacled. Yeees! I could not put it down. The Sword of Kaigen. Yes! Yes! It is one of my 2023 favourites. I disliked writing in Red Rising so much lol, but am willing to try book 2. I am currently making my way through The Stormlight Archive, starting Oathbringer this month. It has been a ride! I absolutely love it! Finished Project Hail Mary couple days ago and oooomg, another all time favourite! It felt like 5 stars already from the beginning and the ending was so so SO good. I literally cried after the last sentence. Listened to audiobook and you're right, the narration is PERFECT! Fireborne and The Will of Many are on my tbr. Can't wait to get to them.

Yeeees Fireborne, I'm really glad you sold me on that one 😂 The story there just feels so much bigger than the books somehow! I have an unpopular opinion on Project Hail Mary though. I loved the premise but not the execution, but that might also be in part because I expected and was hoping for a hard science sci-fi like The Martian. Those communication attempts ultimately dragged on too long for my taste and in my opinion the overall plot suffered from that and didn't feel very fleshed out, but maybe that's just me! 😂 Also you've really outdone yourself again, my fingers itch to read Warbreaker now (and I don't even own a copy) 😂 Thank you for the awesome video and the effort you always put in!

But you are going to love Warbreaker!!! Give me your address (securely and safely via Amazon and through IG) and I will buy it for you! You need it! 🫡 Ahhh I totally understand what you mean with Project Hail Mary! I particularly enjoyed having less science (well, a bit less)!! Yayyyy for Fireborne! I feel so fulfilled you loved it! 🥹 (And thank you so much for letting me know that you detected the extra effort! Means a lot!)

@@FunFantasyBooks Aww that's super sweet of you, but it's alright, I'm able to get it myself 💛 Thank you so much for offering though! I admit, one part I liked more about Project Hail Mary than The Martian was the more accessible science!

Make sense. Most of these are very popular and exactly because of this. Sanderson is a master of writing books of easy reading yet genius hero stories. He rules the fantasy now. For those who are exp. readers Malazan Book of the Fallen is like this. That jumps to the top of this list. Nothing can be compared to that series. Reading... and after it thinking about the ideas and themes what it meant. That's the difference. It delivers deep ideas that makes you think long. 10 years ago or so it was a genius series to find. Now I see how booktubers start it to read and when they finish it becomes the top1 usually. As for sci-fi... You may love the Ender series of Orson Scott Card. Don't fool yourself by the Ender's Game movie. That's bad. But look at the goodreads. it has more reviews than Stormlight 2.5x... That's something. And both the 1st and the 2nd book has Hugo and Nebula awards for a reason. Speaker for the Dead is just a beautiful book.

Sometimes Sanderson can be hit or miss for me but I did enjoy Warbreaker in no small part because of Nighblood. The Powder Mage trilogy does get better as it goes along and beyond into the Gods of Blood and Powder trilogy. New POVs, set on a different continent (Fatrasta). There's more focus on the Bone-eye magic system, I think it's the continent where Ka-poel is from. In the Shadow of Lightning, the first of his Glass Immortals series is brilliant
