Actually in Frozen it wasn't a malfunction, what happened was the movie's main characters begged for one last go, worker operating got switched out, was told about the three right before a different three came down and he shut down the chair lift, not malfunction, miscommunication

Definitely can't agree with the take on Frozen. It was slow moving, but more terrifying than most since a scenario like that can happen. I personally didn't have to deal with wolves, but I was left on a lift for over an hour (Christmas Day). There were a few miscommunications which led the other operators to believe that I had already gotten off of the lift (I was being sent to the top of the hill as the second operator). I had radioed my friend on the next lift over multiple times to tell him I was still on the lift, and the operators insisted that I had gotten off (they had sent someone else to watch the top while they cut out part of their frozen ramp on the bottom). I personally never thought about jumping down because of the distance, but I could see why a decision like that would be made if you've been sitting there for an extended period of time and have no other options. To me, it could have had better lines, but the overall premise and the characters' decisions weren't really that far fetched.

If you watch The Happening, just pretend like the whole "it's the plants!!!" thing is just the characters guessing. Looking for answers in a situation that has no answer. Cause in the end, it's not officially stated by anyone other than the main character that the plants are behind it. No government agency confirms it. No studies are done on it. Nothing. The character just assumes it and we are all just suppose to blindly agree with him. Pretend it's whatever you want it to be. Doing this helps you to pretend it's a horror comedy and not just a straight horror movie.

Brightburn was good. What the video omitted is Brandon was also essentially being told what to do by his ship which was “kill everyone” or “kill humanity” (I can’t remember verbatim). Even after he starts with the people that wronged him and/or wouldn’t let him get his way he still acts like a normal kid at times which is just psychotic but it also gives you hope that maybe, just maybe if his parents show him love then he’ll turn out good and the (spoiler alert) fact he ended up killing his mother was not only pretty shocking but cemented him turning to evil for good. A lot of people I know who watched it said they actually thought his mother would end up killing him and saving humanity. His actions at the start were very much what a lot of teens would do if nobody could stop them. It’s kind of like the movie “Little evil”. The kid played the part of the antichrist at first because that’s what he’s been told to do but still being a child all he wanted and needed was love. Brandon’s mother showed that to him right up until the end of the movie and then, in his mind, betrayed him. That was confirmation for him that nobody will love him now because they fear him too much so…might as well play the part everyone thinks you’re destined to play.

To be fair to Brightburn, the premise itself is actually a very cheap and trite one. A villain that is evil and extremely powerful isn't really a twist, is the norm. It's not interesting, it IS predictable, by its own nature. The series that work about dark superheroes all follow different premises: "The Boys" is a spy thriller, in "Invincible" Omni-Man isn't actually Superman, Mark is closer, and the whole point of "Irredeemable" is that the longer the stories goes on the more you learn how the Plutonian is nothing like Superman. It's far from being the movie's sole flaw (I mean, the boy deliberately signing his murders to let known it was him only for the detective to struggle putting together they were done by the same person is definitely a highlight), but the premise itself was flawed.

One I would add to this list is The Dyatlov Pass Incident / Devil's Pass. For those who haven't seen it, it deals with a group attempting to make a documentary about the real life incident, exploring the area (found footage) to try to find out how the group from the original incident died. It uses some of the 'possible' details from the true event. It's real faulter is inexperienced actors and trying to cram in every 'supernatural', real life incident known to man in the end. But, at its base, they actually had something that could have been great if done right.

The reason The Box’s premise is so good can be due to the fact that it was previously a Twilight Zone episode which itself was adapted from a short story by Richard Matheson called “Button Button”. It’s a very solid premise but The Box from 2009 goes completely off the rails with it. The short story has a different ending from the Twilight Zone episode but both endings are great. However, the path the movie went down went too far.

1. A version of Truth or Dare that was a Netflix original was better than this movie. The entity was invisible, and it put the players through hell. 2. Frozen was actually not bad. Being trapped in a shut down ski lift with a snowstorm and hungry wolves is about as scary as Open Water. 3. Just my opinion, but I would add Unfriended. The premise of a bullied teen who commits suicide over her so called friends humiliating her on KZitem, and then joining their chat as a vengeful ghost was a great concept. But just having the cast yell and argue while sitting in front of their computers while the ghost kills them seemed to me a bit lazy. What especially annoyed me was the ghost,Laura, typing her taunts and threats in too small letters. I wish she'd use Dragon Type.

I don't understand why the purge and brightburn msde this list except that he obviously completely missed the point or misunderstood it. The purge focused on one family yes, but they weren't the point, in the end they had a choice to make whether to help the black dude that was being hunted by their fellow rich white people ore to give him up for their lives, which also was directed at how the purge affected the rich and poor differently amongst other things. Brightburn was incredible, he didn't just laser everyone to death either, he actually struggled with wanting and trying to be good each time he either got rejected or betrayed and went on a rampage, plus the endind opened up the possibility of morw movies with more superpowered kids/beings taking over earth.

Troll 2 I know, I know, here me out on this one. The reason that film is so bad was mostly because of bad dialogue due to a unique problem with the script - it was written in Italian by someone who didn't speak a word of English, who insisted the script be translated word-for-word. Now, any English speaker who has learned Italian knows you cannot do that and expect decent dialogue, the languages have completely different grammar structure, but they did it anyway, and ended up with a mess. So maybe it could have been better if it had been translated right, hard to say. Escape from Tomorrow This was an underground Indy film where the plot is that Disney World is an evil trap - OR maybe the protagonist is insane and the horrible things he sees is him halucinating, the film seems intent on keeping the viewers guessing. Seems a good idea in theory,, but the problem is, said protagonist spends the bulk of the movie stalking two underage girls, neglecting his family and cheating on his wife in the process, making it very hard to support or side with him - he's a complete jerk. Not to mention the film crew actually filmed it in the real Disney World without ther approval, purposely trying to get themselves sued in order to gain popularity. Didn't work - Disney ignored them.

SMILE was great for the first half hour, then it literally turned into the Ring, beat for beat 'I saw her face' etc...

In Frozen he tried to jump out onto a truck underneath them in order to get the drivers attention. The truck moves before he lands and he breaks his legs

Circle. The premise of a bunch of random people trapped in an unknown building sounded amazing. BUT it was the most boring movie i've watched. I was disappointed to say the least

well, spree was kinda screwed from the get-go because of drake's involvement. the guy's a child predator, so no matter how well the film itself turned out, his involvement with the project was always gonna weigh it down.

2 indicators that a horror movie is gonna suck: 1) starring Lucy Hale 2) directed by David Gordon Green It's only a matter of time before those 2 team up to make the worst film imaginable

Countdown was actually really good, i dont know why it was here. The Gathering should have been on the list, though, that movie was predictable from the relief on the wall at the beginning and boring.

I didn't have a problem with Truth or Dare and it's special effect smile. I thought it was somewhat entertaining, not awful, but quite mediocre.

I'll say The Mandela Effect pretty much did nothing with it's great premise. Some odd psychological tension, then a fifteen minute computer simulation scene.

Fantasy Island (1998) was a great, darker remake of the original series. Malcolm McDowell was excellent as a more antagonistic Mr. Roarke.

I disagree about Brightburn. I thought it was a fascinating premise with some great performances. Paranormal Activity, however, has to be the worst, most boring horror movie ever made! A great premise, but a lousy script in which NOTHING interesting or original happens for the first 85 minutes.

So in the movie frozen when they get stuck on the chair lift... that isn't moving... why wouldn't they just slowly make their way back by shimmying down the cable? lol

Are we really surprised that the Happening turned out to be a waste of time? Shamalans big break His Six Sense was nothing more than a knockoff of an old Are You Afraid Of The Dark episode. Guy started out a hack, he was never good and only showed more and more how lacking in skill and talent he has been.

Frozen and Brightburn were really enjoyable; I'd add The Village to this list instead
