I was about to buy a sheet mask the other day, and my boyfriend was with me who knows absolutely nothing about skincare and he asked me what does it do for your skin..I told him it "hydrates" the face...and he simply with a blank face asked me...why don't you just drink water then. And I could not respond to that what so ever 😂

water doesn't hydrate the skin dear, it doesn't even reach your face :)

@rifatyaseen8207

@@dataexpunged6969 it doesn't. When u drink water it reached the internal organs and when those organs work fine it shows up on ur face too. So if you take very less water then it shows up on the face. However if you're taking enough (2-3litres per day) it doesn't necessarily mean your skin will be moisturised too. And even if you increase it to 5 litre then also there wouldn't be anh difference on your face. Dryness on skin depends on stratum corner, the outer layer of the skin which is responsible for locking hydration. So if that layer is screwed then no amount of water intake will help. This is where sheetmasks help, they provide hydration and form an occlusive layer so there's no trans epidermal water loss and your skin is hydrated. However, these sheetmasks are wasteful so your best bet is hyaluronic acid serum on a damp face followed by a thick moisturiser that can form an occlusive layer, basically lock the hydration.

Don't need that. Can I also add those glitter filled peel off masks? Not going to name the brand but I feel like they're gimmicky and those chunky af glitters only clog our drains and cause harm to marine life! You can also mix an active+ your regular moisturiser to make a custom eye cream! Also, lip products can be used on the cheek but for my oily acne prone skin beauties, be a lil careful as it **might** cause acne. An ingredient check on cosdna will be helpful! Thanks! Much love ❤️

Dr dray mentioned in one of her videos that eye creams and neck creams even are actually a gimmick and a hyped up marketing product. Your normal moisturiser will do the same job as that product. Also we need to stop buying: 1. Blackhead removing strips and peel off masks because they do more harm than good to the skin and don’t really pull out the back head. What you actually see is sebum which will form within 2- 3 hours again. 2. Regular Hyaluronic acid serums because they don’t really hydrate the skin as much as it’s shown by the brands. Just use a good moisturiser like Etude House Soon Jung or Avene Hydra cleanance. 3. We need to stop buying a lipstick in every color possible. Instead mix your lipsticks and make the shade you desire and SAVE MONEY because cmon, it’s going to expire before you can completely use it. Can’t think of more at the moment. And also it’s called milia. Pretty sure others have already mentioned it in the comments below.

I have never used shampoos like I use now when I was in school but my hair was so good.. no oiliness and perfect straight.. also the shampoo bottles are too much in my home right now.. thinking about good diy hair cleansers.. Good one Jo!
@nikitak5430
4 жыл бұрын
You do need a good hair cleanser made by a reputed brand. I’m currently loving wella’s volume boost for the oily scalp days and coco soul’s hair cleanser for a mild moisturising wash. DIYs are not a great idea for a hair cleanser because PH of a product matters and you won’t be able to test and perfect it at home unless you are a pharmacist/ chemistry student. Just use a mild cleansing shampoo. Also everyone’s hair texture changes over the years due to aging hormones etc. this is normal. Don’t worry. You may want to reduce heating products/ hair coloring etc and use a good conditioner with amodemithicone after shampoo. You may also want to read about hair porosity and choose your conditioner accordingly.
@addaptinginthedark
4 жыл бұрын
I only shampoo once or twice a month. I have to disagree with the other commenter and say that DIY stuff can be incredible. I do most of my hair washing with powdered herbs, and it works beautifully. That won't be the case with everyone's skin or hair, of course, so your milage may very. But there's no harm in experimenting. Also, unless you're using a shampoo with sulfates in it, which is generally really drying, you should not be using a conditioner with amidimethicone... that will build up over time and cause you problems.

Completely agree with her. Although one product I do need that works for me is eyeshadow primer with concealer on top and setting it. Concealer and powder alone crease horribly on me. Really enjoyed the video.
The blush technique doesnt work for me as i get bumps in my cheeks if i use the lipsticks.. I also have severe dark circles under eye and the best "moisturising" cream i have found so far is missha's MISA GEUM SUL GIYEON korean product. some issues: 1) sheet masks are different than serums, the stuff inside isn’t an actual serum, or else that’d be bad for your skin, serums are supposed to be used in small amounts. serums are highly concentrated and to much is bad. so no one go buy a serum and use it as a mask please lol. 2) some lipsticks can be used as some blush, but they won’t perform or last as well. and metallic and liquid lipstick that dry matte are definitely not good idea at all, they won’t blend or look good in general. some regular bullet lipsticks are also too waxy and don’t blend. 3) eye creams are actually important, not all are the same. regular moisturizers and lotions aren’t ideal for the under eye. that area of skin is VERY sensitive. some are crappy some are great. i genetically have under eye bags and i have dry under eyes. i use the tatcha eye cream, and it was great for me. 4) primers are essentials for some people. for normal skin/ clear skin people typically don’t need it. but for someone like myself, i have dry and acne prone skin, i absolutely need it and the foundation/ concealer/ powder won’t look good will look incredibly dry and it clogs my popes then. 5) you can you concealer as an eye primer. never use both. but eyeprimers are better, they help the shadow blend and perform better, and unlike concealer it prevents your eyelids from being stained. you should at least use something though if you want nice eyeshadow. 6) micellar water isn’t a cleaner. it’s a toner or a way to remove makeup. in a skin care routine there should be: makeup removal cleanser (abt 2 times a week at most) exfoliating toner serum eye cream moisturizer

I use Belie wipes nearly every night. I get home, I wipe the makeup off, have dinner, make phone calls, watch tv and then wash my face and apply lotions before bed. They have natural ingredients and work really well without drying my skin. A balm left on my skin will clog my pores. I use the Neutrogena small travel wipes in the summer - Wipe the makeup off, apply sunscreen, do my hike. If I'm outside long enough I repeat (after 80 minutes at least). Lipstick has toxins you should in NO WAY put on your face! And people with sensitive skin - good luck, you'll need it. Also, it may stain. Hope you like that color because it might not come off. I love buxom lip glosses and have three, pink, neutural and a rose. I have so many eyeshadow pallets, Tarte, Morphe, Marc Jacob, Jaquline Hill, BH Cosmetics and now Tati Westbrooks. I like having them for different looks and often mix and match colors from one pallet to another. Different looks, different moods, different days. I've been using Oil of Olay Regenerist moisterizer and it works the best. I've had a 'moisterizer graveyard' and this stuff works the best on me. So maybe you can SUGGEST 10 products you shouldn't buy, but to assert that we should stop buying them is arrogant.

Out of curiosity I once tried using eyeshadow as blush & contour- sheer eyeshadow works AMAZING as blush, and weirdly, as a hella pale person normal contour always was too dark so I thought “shadows are blue tinted when you’re in sunlight...” and I used a purple eyeshadow lightly to emphasize the shadows under my cheekbones, and damn... it looked good. Yeah- eyeshadow can do everything, its amazing.

I agree with you, and I already stopped buying everything you mentioned. I already own a good blush palette, a highlighter palette from ABH. I'm also done buying full coverage foundations. Tbh, I have MAC, and that's more than enough for once in a while wedding party look. I bought so many Maybelline fit me's but never found my match or liked the foundation. Same with NARS. I think fenty has better shade match and lesser transfer. BUT MY ABSOLUTE FAVE IS NYX TOTAL CONTROL. My god. I am in love with it. No allergies, no pimples, no cake face, just a drop to give the skin a sheer finish that lasts through gym as well. And a very good concealer too. Mac Studio Finish concealer. It's so underrated. I don't see anyone talking about it. Tbh, some days I just put on my moisturiser, concealer beneath my eyes, nyx powder puff lip cream as blush and lip balm. I'm good to go. Maybe a sweep of face powder if I feel oily. All these separate make up items are so unnecessary for daily use, or any use at all.
