One of the things I highly enjoy with rings is that they let me move my hands throughout movements instead of locking them into one position like a bar does. That really is a relief on my wrists.

Ye I find the rings easier on my elbows for the same reason 👍

You can add a cardio component to rings that is never mentioned--imagine doing "cheating" pullups/triceps dips on the rings, i.e., using the legs to complement the movement. Try 20-30 reps performing these "cheating" reps and tell me where your heart rate is now. Very easy on the joints, minimal impact on the knees and actually fun to perform. Many variations off this theme using the rings with arms/legs combos. I am 71 and cannot do the intense brutal training regimens I adhered to in the past due to orthopedic concerns, but intend to remain active until God calls me home.--Mike

You should have at least 100K views. This is the best tutorial for beginners on rings. I was going to make a video to a friend of mine who just bought his first set of RINGS and needed some pointers. You saved me the trouble. Thanks!

Hey, can you make a video on how to hang the rings on the squat rack? I can't find any on KZitem. Similar to the Ring Chin Up.
@TomPetoTraining
2 жыл бұрын
Just hook them through the back of the catch just like you could if it was a tree, bar or anything. No difference being on a rack.

it would be helpful when you show how low your rings hang before you start the specific exercise

Yes they are great for stability and strength. Start with the easier ones like the ring press up and straight arm hold and build your way up 👍

but how does one start, some of the exercises you are showing imply you are already strong. How can one build up the strength? pull-ups are for pros.

Ring Push Ups and Inverted Rows can be done at an upright angle that they suits all levels, I even have my 70 year old clients doing them. Pistols are tough but most people manage some range of motion with 2 hand assist. Chin Ups might have to wait until your inverted rows get stronger or alternative are: band assisted / leg assisted on bench / or just negative only reps. Hope that helps 👍

Still confused by which diameter rings to purchase. Some say get the 1.11" (FIG) and other say get the 1.25” (CrossFit). I don't have particularly big hands.
@TomPetoTraining
Жыл бұрын
Probably get the smaller 1.11’’ I have both & it’s easier to false grip the thinner ones but thicker ones spread pressure a little better. Just go with hand size though, smaller hands = smaller diameter grip 👍

I'm a beginner and I like to do face pulls progression. Adjust tension by bring more or less vertical. So I'm very vertical. Being slow in your progression or is great for your rotator cuff strength.
