I think you have it backwards, limb bolts adjust draw weight, and rotating cam modules adjust draw length.

Great video man! Been bowfishing for the last 5 years so tried some different things but I’ve found AMS as what I like best. I have the discontinued fish hawk right now and love it. But once it needs upgrading, the hooligan is the next purchase.

Good video. I’ve gone out probably no lie 50 times now and out fished someone else with one of these with a gig and headlight. But like all things you want to push the envelope and try new things. I am a bow hunter as well, but again only out of necessity. I’ll end up with one of these and see what I see I guess. I really appreciate this video… it’s a great start.

Professional Novice here... Unasked opinon from my personal experience, went once out of boredom and disbelief...13 years later I literally itch to bowfish and it has become a personality trait: Started with a Sammick sage in 2011 Got a Diamond bow (Being cheap, popped the string shooting a 6 foot gar, and havent used it since) 2014-2015 Got a PSE Kingfisher (ABSOLUTELY FCKING LOVE THIS BOW) 2015-Present (Have shot literal thousands of fish) Great starter bow Got an AMS Bow (Good for kids) 2016-2017 (Compounds are great for tight or wooded areas) Got a Cajun archery shore runner 2018-2020 Got a Cajun archery glow in the dark RTF 2021-Present Megamouth: Expensive and worth it AMS: Easy to learn, great for kids Cajun: More mechanical, can set drag Aim low, shoot often.

For some reason, bow fishing is illegal in the UK, along with most other things involving projectiles. The temptation to emigrate is sometimes overwhelming, especially as it seems easier to get into the USA these days due to the Democrats' open borders policy.

I have elbow issues. Which type is best for people with joint problems?
@theoutdoorempire

I'm not a doctor, so I don't really know, but it's a great question. I imagine you may want something with a lower draw weight. Something like that Fin-Finder Sand Shark might be a good option as it's a recurve that you can draw back as much or as little as you want. For a compound that PSE D3 might be a good one since it you could adjust the draw weight down to 30 pounds and it has let-off so when you're at full draw you're not holding the full weight. This way you could hold it back without much strain on your elbow while you aim. I hope you find something you're comfortable with. Good luck!

Some good content there. The PSE Discovery series bows have been always great buys in the wheelie category. Might mention do NOT buy the Muzzy LV-X lever bows; they are close to the worse choice ever in bowfishing bows.

You should have tested the RPM lever bows. They're about half the price of the Oneida bows and give you the compound power with a recurve feel!

And also light crossbows work for great for kids if allowed by law in your state. I use my vintage Oneida or Darton.

So there’s nothing online like always…. Can I just install any bow fishing mount to a regular compound? Some sites says install the reel mount to where the silent mount goes? Just want to get a youth bow with a spinner reel.

Can’t do a bowfishing bow review without a lever bow! Buy once cry once. They also hold their resale value really well. Stick with Cajun spin doctor, same reel as the muzzy tournament reel at half the price.

Which fairs best on salt water?
@theoutdoorempire
9 ай бұрын
Great question. I don't have any direct experience with that (I'm an inlander), but I would suspect just about any of them would do fine. The Fin Finder is wood, but they market it to saltwater (even the model name is Sand Shark). The rest are made of either aluminum or magnesium alloys that should be relatively corrosion resistant. I'd lean toward a bottle/jug reel. I think either AMS would be fine and the PSE compound or Fin Finder Recurve would be fine options as well.

I don’t know if you heard about the muzzy Decay, but my local archery range has it at a great price. I wonder if it would be a good one. Please let me know if you have some insight, I can’t seem to find information.
