I have spent more than 10 years in Asia, and I still like Thailand very much. Bangkok and Pattaya is where I have lived. I stay right now in Pattaya. Rentals are very affordable in this moment due to the plandemic issues. Hopefully Thailand will be more welcoming in the future for long term stays. The last 6 years I lived in Mindanao, Philippines. An amazing place, with very friendly and easy visa policy. Arrive without any visa, and extend your stay up to 3 years as a tourist. Bali is fantastic, and it has different climates, depending on where you settle. However, getting a long term visa there is not easy. Malaysia is very good and affordable. India is interesting but noisy and chaotic at times. China is very expensive and people are quite impolite sorry to say, and there are almost no English speakers. Common for all these places is that the authorities may be very tyrannical at times, just notice how they locked everything down with all kind of silly rules. This was terrible in the Philippines and I guess almost all over Asia, and beyond...

Sadly the previous government demonstrated a real xenophobia towards long-term retiree and other long-stay tourists with incomes from abroad. They increase the required salary/pension requirements for the Malaysia My Second Home Program from @US2500/month to US10,000/month. Also one has to put in a Fixed Bank Deposit in Ringgit (with poor interest rates) of US200,000 (previously about US80K with numerous allowable withdrawals). Finally one must demonstrate a US300K foreign asset base. There's a US 2500 application fee ( previously free) and a visa fee of US125/year (US 25/year prior to 2022) plus other fees. A health check and criminal background check is required. Supposedly they wanted to attract a better quality of applicant. They had virtually no one bite. In fact they are losing the older recipients whose visas are coming up for renewal. Last year they lost 2000 visa holders who opted not to renew (plus their dependants). That was about 80-90% of the visas issued a decade ago. Unless the new government flips the program their bleed old applicants and will have no new ones. That's a loss of several billion dollars a year in expenditures, fixed deposits, property and car purchases, health care, insurance, and if the kids are in school a major base of support for international schools. The East Malaysian States have a Constitutional right to operate their own immigration programs...and have retained a Sarawak MM2H and Sabah MM2H that remain affordable and easier to qualify for. East Malaysia is less Islamically influenced and is more multicultural and relaxed. It's also predominantly English speaking (at least it's the Lingua Franca) and has more nature and cultural tourism. Less hung up about alcohol. They do have 5G in the cities

All I can suggest to anyone contemplating Jakarta, KL or BKK is that you need to spend at least a month in your chosen city. If you are under 35 and you have a decent budget, these cities may be everything you are looking for - just take the claims of foreigners living on 300 baht a day with a grain of salt. Assuming you don't spend the entire month partying, you will begin to get a feel for the pros and cons of these crowded cities.

Yogyakarta, Central Java/Special Region of Yogyakarta - Special Region in Indonesia that ruled by Monarch as Governor & Vice Governor - It's a student center city so a lot of it's citizen are having a basic in english speaking (especially the younger ones) - Having 2 Largest Temple (Borobudur Temple & Prambanan Temple) and unique chicken shaped Church that have a beautiful view in it's rooftop - The vibes is what makes it special here that you wouldn't get anywhere else 3. Bandung, West Java - Having been called "Paris van Java" since the Dutch colonial era because it's a fashion center city like in Paris - It's also a student center city so a lot of it's citizen are having a basic in english speaking - It's good, if you like a more cold temperature (18°C - 26°C) 4. Solo, Central Java - The birthplace of today's Indonesia President. Also the city of Monarch like Yogyakarta but it doesn't have a political power, only a cultural power that still maintained by its people that attract a lot of visitors. It was also known for its popular folk song "Bengawan Solo (the river of Solo)" in Asia Region - It's also a student center city so a lot of it's citizen are having a basic in english speaking (especially the younger ones) - Fun fact: The city is now governed by President's son as a Mayor in a democratic election, the people are loving him and the city is growing rapidly in a good direction :D 5. Malang, East Java - The city has many names but it's well known for its delicious meatball, apple, and cold temperature - It's also a student center city so a lot of it's citizen are having a basic in english speaking - It's good, if you like a more cold temperature (17°C - 26°C)

I heard a story that the big field where that little housing complex was, there had been some kind of massacre by Japanese soldiers during WW2? Who knows. But I saw a snarling dog in my (lucid) dream and my wife said that other people had seen this dog as well. Anyway. Didn't mean to go on about the dream. @@luminouslink777 what? Stories? Lol. Umm. One time, I made the mistake of (drunk) getting in a gangster taxi in Block M of Jakarta and this other guy got in and they drove me way the hell outside the city, stole my $15 Nokia phone and whatever was in my wallet (I always drank until wallet empty so nothing) and probably took my bank card which was useless without the pin. Had to borrow a phone off of some random person to call a taxi to get home and lay with whatever cash I had stashed there for this sort of emergency. 😂 You mean stories like that? Lots of stories that involve drinking. 😂 Girls. I have stories about girls. Should I start my own channel regarding this?

Malaysia is English speaking. The rest of the countries are less fluent in English. Two of the countries listed here are on fault line and any time could face earthquake and volcanic eruption. There is no visa for you to apply to retire in China. This video is purely for tour, not really for retirement or to live. You need to check visa first before you could live there!

Have you ever been to China? So how do you determine where life is not exciting? ! I lived there for a few months, it was ten years ago, the comfort, freedom, safety, and excitement of living there will never lose to any other country introduced, unless you want to get involved in politics in China...

Details are not quite true unless you choose to live and eat super cheap. Avg meal in a restaurant in Chennai is 600 rupees. So before you choose do your own study based on your choices.

Those numbers are extremely on the LOW side .... would even be difficult for a frugal backpacker to live off those numbers. I've lived and still live in some of the places mentioned and the numbers are way off.

to be fair, you did say "for cheap"; even then, i think you need to update your video. some figures seem way out. but there are several things you have left out, chief of which is LANGUAGE. typical of western expats to just think of cost without thinking of people, their language, their customs. unless of course you think you can live virtually in an Asian city and have minimal contact with locals who don't speak your language. makes you seem like mercenaries, out to exploit the locals but without having to really live among them as they do.
