I feel like too many people don’t give bodies bodies bodies the praise it deserves. Yes, the characters are annoying, but they’re supposed to be. It’s a satire of people who grow up privileged and therefore stunted in maturity. They all have such realistic dialogue and really come off as petty, narcissistic bitches that’ll throw each other under the bus at any turn, and I love it! I watched this in the theater and was mildly enjoying it despite them being annoying and obviously petty towards each other and just generally awful people, and when that end reveal happened I burst out laughing and couldn’t stop it until I got out to my car. Personally, I think Stu, (in Scream), being a Ghost-face killer should have been on this list. We totally expected Billy to be Ghost-face because he ticks off too many red flags (which Sidney missed somehow), but Stu also seemed like the anti-Ghost-face due to being popular and not having a good reason to partner up with Billy for a kill spree. However, I assumed if there was a second Ghost-face killer (which there had to be for any sense), it would have been Randy, due to his knowledge of horror movie cliches and way more likely to have a lot more motives to kill people that were jerks to him. Just saying - this did actually surprise me the first time I watched Scream.

I realized something fun recently… F13th is actually a better movie now than when it was released because of the pop culture status of Jason. For younger viewers who don’t know the original, the Pamela twist works really well because modern viewers are just expecting Jason. It was a ton of fun watching it with my niece and her friends recently because of this, and their minds were absolutely blown! Haha I think that’s one of the only movies of it’s kind in that way, that the legend and status has obscured the original enough to make the twist even better.

I wish people talked about "The Broken" (2008) more. More or less, doppelgängers are taking over. This takeover is somehow warned about whenever glass breaks. Near the end Gina goes home to her apartment only to find a dead body in her bathroom. Which is her. She then has flashbacks and realizes she herself is one of the doppelgängers who is "broken". Meaning the name and the movie poster both were giving you the twist all along.

A Horrible Way To Die You spend the whole movie thinking you're watching two recovering alcoholics, Kevin and Sara, trying to kindle a semblance of intimacy, despite Sara's ex being an incarcerated serial killer, Garrick, whom she got arrested. Garrick escapes and begins looking for her. There's actually two reveals. One, Kevin is a serial killer/superfan, who along with two others have plotted to capture Sara and give her up to Garrick. Garrick escapes prison to meet up with them. The second reveal is the reason why this film went from being a kind of forgettable horror movie, to my favourite cinematic love story of all time. Look. For the final time. Friday the 13th was a slasher and who the killer was was a mystery. No one expected Jason to be the killer because no one had heard of Jason until the final moments of the movie. It was clear that Mrs. Vorhees was avenging her son's death. Jason as the killer wasn't until part 2. The fact that are so young that the movies were already out with Jason as the killer doesn't make that a thing.

Except in Frailty, the demons aren't real, or they are, but not like you might think. Dad (his real name is never given) claims, more than once, that he isn't killing people, he's destroying demons. When he touches them, he sees them for what they really are. In the big reveal at the end, we see that when he touches one of his victims, he gets a vision from whatever entity has been sending them of the person doing a bad thing, generally killing someone. What he doesn't see is demons. He sees bad people. This isn't my distinction, this is his - he says he doesn't kill people, he destroys demons. And we only ever get to see the bad things being done from Dad's, and later Adam's pov. We, the audience, can't know for sure if what they're seeing reflects reality, if the people involved were actually people who'd killed someone, or just a hallucination, or, and this is my reading, a vision sent by an demon claiming to be an angel of god using a zealot to do their dirty work. Short version, I agree that a demon exists, and there may be a war between it and God in this universe, but Dad, Fenton, and Adam only think they're on God's side. The "angel" Dad sees is (2 Corinthians 11:14) "And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light."

Whether they're demons or just bad people, whatever visions the father and Adam saw were what they really did. Doyle himself at the end confirms that the visions were real. When Adam touches Doyle longer in the rose garden and sees more of what Doyle did to his own mother, Doyle says "How did you know this?" or something along those lines. You can also see it in the faces of the other people when the visions are revealed. They all started as scared/terrified (probably anger in the last guy), they're touched to reveal the vision (which they see as well), and their faces change to confusion and shock (like Doyle -how did you know this?). The father was also told Fenton was a demon and to dispatch with him, but he couldn't. Obviously he wasn't a demon then, but certainly foretold of him becoming a serial killer in the future. Either way, they're bad people, demons or not.
@g.mitchell7110
Жыл бұрын
@@ApohMay Even if they're bad people (which I'm not sure of), they're definitely not demons. Dad and Adam make it very clear that demons are not people. Both say they don't kill people, they destroy demons. By their own words, they're separate categories. Except for the framing device, all of what we see is Adam's story to the FBI agent, and we know for certain that Adam is an unreliable narrator - he claims to be Fenton for most of the movie, and he claims he doesn't kill people even though we see him kill three people (Dad's third victim, Fenton, the FBI agent). The fact that he lies about all those things puts everything he says, meaning the entire flashback sequence, in doubt. Additionally, just because Dad and Adam see these visions doesn't mean the visions are accurate. They may be hallucinations or, as I read it, false visions sent by a false angel. "God" tells Dad that young Fenton is a demon, even though young Fenton has done nothing wrong or evil. Young Fenton is, by most standards, a good person, and certainly not a demon. This shows us that "God" is getting rid of enemies, even if they're good people. If Fenton opposing Dad is enough to put him on Dad's list, doesn't that put the rest of the list into question? Doesn't that put "God's" intentions in question? The FBI agent says, "How did you know?" after Adam touches him. This is vague. How did you know . . . what? Adam is the one seeing a vision, not the FBI agent, and these visions are not reliable because they're experienced exclusively by an unreliable narrator. My main point, however, is that, bad people or not, by the movie's own standards, Dad and Adam's victims are not demons and thus, they are either deluded or being tricked or both. Given the videotape and memories being erased, it seems clear something supernatural is going on here, so my conclusion is the latter: they're being tricked by a demon. To put it another way: If "God" is willing to order the murder of an innocent child at the hands of his father, this isn't a god whose will I'd want to serve. Whatever name you want to give the entity guiding Dad and Adam, that entity is evil. Maybe this world just has an evil god. That works for me.
@lemuntpicard7482

@@ApohMay Yeah thus the surname of "hand of God" and the divine alterations of any security footage and memory of potential witnesses of their deeds. Also frankly, if a redneck tied me up and was about to split my skull with a rusty axe in front of his kids, I would also freak out when he touch me and begin to moan and shiver like an evangelist preacher. Adam mentions Doyle's mother and the inheritance at the rose garden before touching him and the guy wonders how he knew that. Weather Doyle share the flashback or not remains fogy at best. Of course, the term "demons" is subject to interpretation and there's an unreliable narrator component but it really seems that they're just people about to get away with at least one murder and god sent Bill Paxton and his offspring. Fenton was a "Demons" because he was about to kill THUS we can assume all other victims were also free willing humans that needed divine intervention to get their comeuppance.

There was a film from 1995 called "Haunted" with Aidan Quinn, Kate Beckinsale, and John Gielgud that had a great "everything you know is a lie" bit at the end. I highly recommend it.

Also, is it written in their contract that they have to use the word titular for every video? I think someone needs to buy them a thesaurus, so they can find some new synonyms.

How is "The Sixth Sense" even a surprise? I watched that film with a buddy who had already seen it and was excited to have me see it. About 20 minutes in, I said, "So Bruce Willis is dead, or what?" and his face just fell. How did people not see it?

But that's not what the end of Frailty means. It doesn't necessarily prove that the demons are *real*, just that our wildly unreliable narrator sees them as though they are. You guys don't watch movies, huh?

Honestly, I dug most every movie on this list. Only one I haven't seen is the bodies one (personally from the marketing I thought I would hate all the characters). Liked all the others though.

Would you consider putting the film title before the spoiler insteadof the other way around? That way we still have time to skip if we don't want to get spoiled.

Frailty-Adams mother is already dead when the movie opens with him as a child she died giving birth to him. The FBI agent he kills at the end of the film had secretly killed his OWN mother. Whoever rights the copy should actually see the movie 😂

What about the plot twist in "House at the End of the Street"?

I know there are a million things that are ridiculous and impossible about the movie "Malignant," but I still get hung up on the fact that a parasitic twin would never be a different gender. Parasitic twins always start as identical twins, but then the egg doesn't completely split. I even Googled it after I watched the film to make sure that I was right about that. I realize that's a silly thing to get hung up on, but I actually figured out the "twist" during the opening credits because they literally show paperwork talking about parasitic twins. They give the whole thing away in the first five minutes if you're quick enough to catch what's written in the medical documents. So they tried to be somewhat medically accurate by explaining the condition, but then threw that all out the window by making Gabriel male. It's insanely nit-picky, I know, but it's something that so easily could have been corrected and it wouldn't have changed the story at all.
