I do NOT understand the hate Fox gets. She's obviously got the chops, she's just has several crud films under her belt (as any actor would)... Loved "Til Death". I hope she gets more chances to really sink into a character. She can do it. 🤘🏾
@lenusniq_9746

@Rich Perez Even IF she were a mediocre actress, how does THAT justifies the hate she gets? Hollywood is full of mediocre actors and actresses but Fox seems to be one of the most hated without any grounds for that...

SHe's seen as a sex symbol. Like that is her typecast, and you mix that with her blacklisting by Micheal Bay for 5yrs during which she was still playing a sex symbol in other movies. So most people veiw her as a peice of ass who gets parts based on that not actual skill/talent. It really takes a LOT of good films to get out of that niche and even then you kinda just hover over it.
@robertr798

The thing is, she has *mostly* crud films and lackluster performances under her belt. “Jennifer’s Body” and “Til Death” are outliers. True, no actor deserves outright hate for doing their job, but Fox has yet to truly justify her career. Hopefully she gets that chance.

Some that I think of!!: -Garance Marillier (Raw 2016. She puts on such a convincing performance as someone fighting a primal urge she never knew she had until she reunites with her older sister in college) -Stephen Lang (Don't Breathe 2016. An underrated performance as a villain that you can tell there's much more too than just being "evil". A blind military vet with a tragic past, protecting himself -from intruders by evening the odds) -John Krasinski (A Quiet Place 2018. Having to act completely speechless pretty much throughout the entire movie, John puts on a moving performance as a man desperately trying to hold onto what he has left in the world and protect his family. You get a genuine fear from him, but also kind and sweetness at the same time...once again with speaking almost no words the entire movie. John's wife, Emily Blunt, also puts on an amazing performance as his in movie wife) -Chloe Grace Moretz (Let Me In 2010. Chloe Grace puts on an amazing performance in her younger years as a "child", seeking companionship from a young boy, while trying to hide her inner demons as best she can from the outside world. Terrifying, somber, sad and even a bit relatable, her performance is haunting as "young" Abby)

One actress to include, but for two different roles in different movies: Rebecca Hall in both The Night House and Resurrection. I couldn’t agree more. The Night House alone gets very little mention for being as subtle, and stunning as it is as a film, but her performance was critical to the success of how nuanced the film was. She creates a character that keeps you guessing, due to her performance, wether or not she is losing her mind or if the more inconceivable reality she is experiencing is actually happening. And it never seemed forced.
