What is weirder (or maybe a bit creepy) is that the Abzorbaloff from Love and Monsters was designed by a child in a Blue Peter competition. To have "... a bit of a love life" in that episode is quite disturbing when taking that into consideration.

It wasn’t Elton being selfish. They had their goodbyes and he would have gotten over it. It was the doctor who made the choice to bring her back that way.

There's an Ood on the loo! Locking Hitler in a cupboard. Have to see two versions of Amy, one old and one young....etc. Rory gets all the weird stuff, even being turned into an Auton, spending 2000 years protecting Amy in the Pandorica, dressed as a Roman centurion and then getting to kill a Dalek, dressed as a museum security guard. Maybe WTF or not. 😁 Pond Life was also on the Red Button on Freeview.

Personally I'd have swapped the web planet part for the bj paving slab. my personal biggest WTF is when the third doctor uses a nuclear power plant to attempt a travel experiment but ends up on a parallel earth. what's WTF about that I hear you say... well the console was NOT inside of the police box and even bessie was transported with the third doctor. lest we also forget about that one 2nd doctor scene where the TARDIS blows up in a dream esq sequence?

I was intrigued by the "paving stone" episode, because Shirley Henderson (who played the woman-turned-paving stone) was also in Harry Potter. He character in Harry Potter was a bit more cringe than a paving stone. She was 37 when she played moaning Myrtle in the 2nd movie. Which put her about 40 in the 4th movie, where she "shares a bath" with Harry. Luckily the scene used cgi because it would have been really weird to have the actual actress in the scene with Harry, who was only 14 at the time.

My biggest WTF moment has always been questioning how Mark Gatiss was continually commissioned to write for the show, when his scripts were tolerable at best, and jaw-droppingly atrocious at the worst (Victory Of the Daleks, anyone? Or Sleep No More?)
@TheManInBlueFlames
Жыл бұрын
For me it's Sleep No More - it LITERALLY has no proper ending, the only episode to date. I reckon Gatiss was so loved by Moffat is 1) They wrote other episodes together originally 2) Gatiss apparently wrote 'the Unquiet Dead' which was part of a more successful series 3) Gatiss brought back old villains which Moffat liked.
@ladycplum
Жыл бұрын
@@TheManInBlueFlames One of the many episode review books I own said they think the only reason Gatiss was brought back to write for the show over an over again was because he had compromising photos of Moffat and some Cybermen together! 🤣🤣

Great video Crispy! 😊 To be honest I had a lot WTF moments during quite a few episodes in the chibnall era, just because many of them ended ridiculously quickly in order to fit in with the time slot for the episode which then meant that half the time the ending of episodes didn't make sense! For example, the series 11 final episode The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos wasn't a great episode to begin with but the ending was so rushed that the whole story or any sense of danger went out the window! Also the series 13 flux storyline was really quite good, but the ending for it was rushed and had no real impact. I'm truly sad about the lack of quality of most of the chibnall era, it had good moments, just not enough. 😊
