Thank you. These are all very useful, but I especially like saving colors and fence geometry. Colors: I have long wished that the paint pallets function worked in the shader editor as well as the texture paint workspace, esp. since you can now extract colors from images right in blender, and/or import your Gimp pallets into Blender. But I never thought about just dragging a pallet image into the image editor. Thanks. Fence: I have tried to do similar things using the wireframe modifier, but your approach is much more flexible and has much more potential. Thanks.

With resolution you can also multiply, divide, add or subtract in each number area. Works anywhere with numbers as well, like extending the timeline. 1920 * 2 is 3840
@Barnaclebeard

But you can't do that to both factors at the same time, so it is irrelevant.

It's great we can drag objects from outliner to viewport to populate the scene, but it would be even cooler if the placed objects were duplicates (instances) of the originals.

i made a fence like that by just rotating the subdivided plane 45 degrees and using a wireframe modifier. which is more efficient: the skin modifier or the wireframe? thanks
@BlenderDaily
2 жыл бұрын
wireframe is faster but i like to use the skin modifier, since it allows me to get round wires (if combined with the subsurf)

If you use a MixRGB node instead of RGB for your group, you won't have to enter the group to change the color.

yes, but then the group doesn't update on all the instances. unfortunately it doesn't work without entering the group...

Thank you for these. My 2 favorites involve the color tips. What is the resolution of something rendered @ 1920×1080 but @ 200%? Half of 3840×2160? It is confusing. Would the display of a 200% res. rendering1920×1080 still only occupy 1920×1080 pixels? Would it appear to be higher detail resolution? I wish I knew the outcome and how it would impact rendering resource management and compute times.
@BlenderDaily
2 жыл бұрын
1080p at 200% gives you exactly the same result as 2160p at 100%. There’s no difference:)

11:11 It's shame that it does not work in edit mode. I mean, edges and faces bothered, and you can not choose anything through them.
