I love your videos so much, I feel like our tastes really fall in line. I have the same feelings about so many of these books! Dune, Le guin, Jane Austen, Priority of the orange tree! I feel seen lol! I did just request A Wizard of Earthsea from the library, so hopefully that will be coming soon!

Thank you! I find that to be one of the positive things about the internet. Finding other people who are into the same things as you. Or who can’t seem to start the same books as you😂

I just ordered a special edition of Pride & Prejudice for a friend from Sweet Sequels! She created her own illustrations and it an awesome small business to support.

The only books that I have not read of books that I just simply haven’t heard about. If someone tells me about a book, I’m gonna at least give it a shot, I am completely baffled that this really could happen to somebody where you want to read a book and you never get around to it. I think I am just utterly shocked and amazed. But I do wanna read priory of the orange tree since you say it sounds like a really long and detailed epic fantasy. So thank you for that. I’m definitely going to go and find that book and read it, because I never have read it.

I can only read about 2-4 books a month, so they tend to stack up. I hope you enjoy Priory, I’ve heard good things, especially about the prequel to it.

I did read priory of the orange tree, and my feelings are about it or mixed. I absolutely love the storyline, the characters were engaging and fun, I just didn’t like their picture of dragons that was not my favorite thing, and I was hoping that all the books out there, this person, the author would have kind of something fantastical. I don’t know, but they didn’t and it kinda was a letdown. I felt like we were getting ready for something and it just didn’t turn out to be that way, and that might be just me, I’m gonna have to read this book again, and get my feelings in some semblance of order. Because right now I love the plot line and I love the characters, but I kind of wish I would have been able to be there at the writing process, so that I could’ve simply said no you need to add this and no, you know there were aspects that I really wanted to change, I know this comment is going to seem really rambling, but, overall I enjoyed this book, I think you’ll definitely like it, I think I’m just being a brat about the dragons.

@@emerald.sapphire.amethyst72 that was fast! I’m glad to hear you mostly enjoyed it. And nothing wrong with picky about dragons in a dragon book.

For me, Ursula LeGuins books outside of the Earthsea series are what I keep meaning to read. Also all the Discworld books I haven't read but especially Night Watch. If you havent read any Discworld books I highly highly recommend them (Monstrous Regiment is my favourite if you don't know which one to start with) Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and Fahrenheit 451 were both pretty good, personally between the two I preferred Androids, BUT if you want to check out classic scifi then Isaac Asimov is the writer to read. His books are interesting but still very accessible and easy to read. I read The Caves of Steel recently and it ruled. 1984 was really good but a pretty heavy read, though I'm sure you knew that already lol. Pride and Prejudice starts off kind of slow but by the time Darcy proposes I was HOOKED.

Of all these, I think Pride and Prejudice is the one I’m looking forward to the most. I might make it a winter read. Thank you for your input!

I need to finish the Temeraire series. There are probably plenty of classics I should read. I've never read most of the big fantasy authors. I kind of wish I could download a literary fiction novel without having to read it because I'm afraid that genre isn't for me.

Reading is a time commitment, so we have to choose wisely. There’s just so many! I have His Majesty’s Dragon, but haven’t started it yet.

I wish I had already read A Song of Ice and Fire series, but it's so long and not even finished...also A Day of Fallen Night because I hope it's better than The Priory of the Orange Tree.

Ooh, A Song of Ice and Fire is a good one for this topic! I have heard A Day of Fallen Night is better than Priory, and I don’t know if it matters in what order you read them. But I’m not even looking yet because then I’ll want to read it😂

That is such a big fantasy classic. But I don’t think anyone should feel pressured to have to read it just because it’s part of fantasy history.
