I told her no way am I taking metformin when I'm not diabetic. I know what I need to do to get my A1c down and it is not with medication. @Spirit Boy I am far from a Dr but when My kidney function dropped ( GFR ) to 33 now back up to 45, they had taken me off Lisinipril and metformin. I am diabetic so they put me on Farxiga which is for blood sugar and to prevent kidney function loss and Trulicity a once a week shot. Apparently the Metformin and Lisinopril can reduce kidney function. My Nephrologist suggested the Lisinopril again after I was stable. He said the Kidney function would drop short term then come up. I was to paranoid about it dropping more and he said I did not have to. The Blood Pressure Med I take now is Metoprolol 2x a day. 100 mg AM 50 MG PM. Your kidney function GFR can vary depending on foods and hydration. You have to get more blood work. Sometimes Kidney function will jump back after its " Healed" up. In my case the damage to Nephrons is somewhat permanent.

@@Preteahumblegirl Sure. A typical day goes like this: Breakfast: two slices of whole grain bread or oats, 1.5 - 2 eggs (sunny side up or scrambled) and 2 servings of vegetables (either fresh salad [cucumber, tomato and chopped onion], or cooked vegetables such as okra, bitter gourd, cooked pumpkin or bodi [I think it's also called yardlong beans]) and coffee. Lunch: Chicken or Fish and vegetables, sometimes with bean noodles with water or diet coke. Dinner: Tuna salad, one or two slices of whole grain bread, similar vegetables to breakfast with tea, water, or diet coke (trying to cut back on diet coke lol) 1 - 2 snacks a day: Mixed Nuts, occasionally a sugar free cookie I found which I love, or 4 blocks or dark chocolate. Occasionally: 1 or 2 meals a week - fried chicken replaces (I really love fried chicken, but I do my best to avoid fries.) I usually wake up with a blood glucose between 85 and 98 and my post-prandial sugar is rarely over 120 -- usually it's between 95 and 115. Your advice, which I’ve been following for a while now, is invaluable…AND, so are your Super Berberine and daily vitamin supplements! Though a “heath nut” most of my adult life, I still had the early onset of pre-diabetes at age 60, and my doc put me directly onto Victoza and Metformin! Yikes! I had no advice about changing from my vegetarian diet with lots of whole grains (brown rice, my own home baked breads, cooked beans, etc.) plenty of fresh fruits and sweet veggies like sweet potatoes, etc.-ALL high carb, low fat! Now, though, with your great advice, and that of another M.D., (Dr. Ken Berry, advocate of the Keto diet I’ve closely followed for 2 yrs.), I keep my carbs under 20gm/day, but am still on glimepiride, even though my sugar numbers are close to normal. 😕 BUT…your advice about the high importance of regular EXERCISE just now, has finally given me the extra motivation I’ve been needing to be able to eliminate the Rx that causes lots of the IBS issues that still give me so much trouble. Telling you “THANK YOU !”doesn’t really express how much I appreciate your ongoing, generous advice, Doctor, and the excellent supplemental products you offer that are enhancing my Keto lifestyle results! 🎉🥰

@SugarMD, ppl w/CKD on a VLPD… predominantly eat whole carbs or lots of fat. I eat lots of carbs, and my fat of choice is olives and avocados only (low fat). I’m not very active. Regarding diet what do you suggest I do differently? I know I’m not the only one of your subscribers in this situation.

Fasting will help eliminate eating too much carbs or at least not eat them too often. You can eat more plant based that will hemp your kidneys.

@@SugarMDs I’m 💯 plant base vegan. There’s a lot of fruit and vegetables that are carbs. That’s why I say I eat predominantly “whole carbs.” Clearly I don’t over eat, because I’m only 121 pounds at 5’6 inches.

There's a lot of misinformation and bad advice on the internet, espeically those in white coats, which my GP tells me to be careful of taking their advice. Anyone who tells you can reduce HBA1C with diet and exercise are probably giving poor advice. I'm an athlete who ttraisn everyday and walks 10,000 steps every day with a good low carb diet and I cannot reduce my HBA1C without medication.

I recently checked random fasting sugar and it was 14.3. what vitamins can i use to correct this as i am not looking to use Metformin in any form.

Doctor, Thank you so much. I'm grateful to you.I kept a comment two days back to lower my A1C from 10.4 to 7. Then you've published this video. 30% I have implemented the suggestions derived from this video & bit by bit I will make this program flexible. Do I have to change the insulin? Currently, im using INSUGEN R & INSUGEN N (42 units per day). RYZODEG is expensive. Do you suggest to me any cheap but best alternative. Also most of the time (my forebrain thinking is on & I admit I feel I have a psychological issue due to lack of love, care, support, unheard, unseen). I will improve it & transform myself into the next world-class level.

Everybody is different but my expertise with my diabetic patients is that when they start taking our sugarmd advanced glucose support they taper down and stop insulin within few days if they are taking less than total of 40 units of insulin. Yes I would always discuss with your doctor how to lower your insulin if your glucose becomes too low on sugarmd advanced glucose support. Our supplement works very very fast so be careful.

Also make sure to get non gmo or organic so it doesn’t disrupt your endocrine system ❤️❤️..I’m good without metformin..
