I just got my Ohuhu alcohol markers and I got the 80 pack set. I got the colorless blender and two of the same fluorescent colors. I got the yellow, orange and the rose fluorescent colors. I got lucky with no duplicates at all and the swatches are relatively if not closest to the marker tips. I love them so far but there are a few colors that bleed a more than others. Granted they came early, also have a bag are a big bonus to keep them together and they don't roll either. An awesome value and great starter alcohol markers for a lot of markers.

I have a pro tip for people who can't afford chameleon markers but have the normal alcohol ones! If you have a colorless blender marker (marked as 0 on the winsor&newton promarkers) you can actually do the thing like chameleon markers. Just open the colorless blender on the bullet tip side and do the same thing with a marker, then you touch the tips together. You should hold the two touching markers vertically. If you hold them with the blender on top, then use the color marker on paper, you will have a bright to dark color transition. If you hold them with the color marker on top, then use the colorless blender on paper you will have a dark to bright color transition. That's it! Hope i helped!

I think those Touch markers are the Shin-Han Touch markers. They're not a bad price - in Australia I can get them for about $5 a marker, compared to $8.50 per marker for Copics. They shouldn't be confused with the "Touch Five" markers, which look eerily similar to your Ohuhu markers - I think they're the same, just rebranded! The Touch Five markers are RIDICULOUSLY cheap at less than $1 per marker, and they seem to come in sets of 40, 60, 80, 168 and 218. I got the 168 set for just under $100, so 60c a marker AUD. The caps are plastic and are mostly accurate... except for a few which are wildly inaccurate, so I highly recommend swatching! They're a great beginner set and although the selections are random, some ebay sellers give rough colour groups to choose from (like, Architectural, Design) but if you can afford the 168 or 218 those both contain a wide variety of colours in nice tones.

Try touch five markers. You can find a set of 80 for £20-£25 on eBay or wish. Also my friend found some markers in 'The Works' she told me that they don't have a brand but they are alcohol based and she said there are like 20/30 markers for £15.
@Olshia666

A quick fix for markers that don't represent the colour on the caps (or that don't have names on the markers) get a bunch of adhesive round labels (I think I used 12mm ones for my promarkers) and colour them in with the actual ink. You can write the colour name on the sticker before you put them on as well. For markers that don't have flat caps (like my LePlumes) I just put the stickers on the barrel. It's a little time consuming but you only have to do it once and it's super cheap!

Touch Markers are my main marker brand. There are tons of colours to choose from and they work basically just like Copic markers. I live in Canada and here they run for about $5 each at the store. So that's about 3-4 dollars cheaper than a copic marker. they also come in colour coordinated sets as well as large sets and individual units.

I really wish I could find all those copic alternatives in my country but I don't even get to see copics in here! The only alcohol markers sold here are Prismacolor Premier ones. The pros are they're a lot more affordable (obviously), pretty blendable, the markers' tones match the prismacolor colored pencils really nicely (which could be convenient) and there's a pretty wide color range! The cons are they don't have a brush tip (correct me if I'm wrong but brush tips help a lot when blending colors?), they're not refillable and it's better for you to buy them separately 'cause their sets are pretty awful. I think they're made in the US so I don't know if you guys would be able to get them for cheap but if you get your hands on some I'd love to see you using them!

I have some Chameleon markers and I love drawing butterfly wings with them. Miraculously I have a bag that they fit in perfectly along with my sketchbooks. Also, the colour tops, to my knowledge, are not sold yet; I believe that the only ways that you could have colour tops would be if you were a kickstarter backer for them or a subscriber to Scrawlr box as they were in last month's box.

Deleter sells supplies specifically for creating manga, and they currently have 144 colors of markers which are refillable, and both have dual tips (the newer ones have fine point and chisel, older brush and chisel). I have several and really like them, and you can use them with copics. They are $3.13 a piece on their website, but you do have to pay shipping. I love Deleter as a company, and they often send free samples with your order (I've recieved screen tone and once a free marker).

If you're in the us, a good alternatives that are probably most comparable to promarkers/brushmarkers is the prismacolor markers! they're way easier to find (in some areas easier to find than copics) and they're way less expensive, the only downside is that they aren't refillable. the inks are super nice and there are lots of colors.

For touch markers, the barrel is white ^^ But if you get a touch marker with a black barrel, the other end isn't a brush tip, it's a bullet nib ^^

This is an American brand, but I got some alcohol markers from Walmart, and the brand is ArtSkills. I got a set that has your red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown, and black. I'd say they're pretty good. Comes with a bullet and chisel tip. The ink dries solid, and I can't see streaks. You can layer them to get different shades of the ink

Blick is also a pretty good one for the US !! The only downside (or upside if you're weird like me and love the smell of markers) is the smell is SO strong !!

In Latvia its easy to get a hold of the Tiger markers and there my very first alcohol markers and im really happy, and yes the art labels were really off and disappointing to me because i draw a lot of pastel art but doesn't mean they're useless, they're awesome to use! They're easy to get because in Riga there is like 4 to 6 Tiger shops, also if you live close to the Estonia boarder it can be just as easy to go there and find a Tiger shop too, i think there are like 2 but it does the job! Im still trying to get the brown/skin tone set, i have everything else and they are worth the price! Also i wanted to say in America there is a tiger shop in New York as much as i know, so like, any artist who live nearby NY, you can still get them!

I use the Illustrator markers, and i really like them! The only thing i don't like about them was how different the color on the cap looks from the actual color it makes on the page. But you can get around this by having a swatch page with you. About the touch markers, they're seen in America (from what i hear from people around me) as a sort of 'second best' to copics. They're only a little cheaper than copic markers, so you're not saving a TON of money, but they are better if you want copics but cant afford them. Hope this helped!

Have you tried Prismacolor Premier Markers? They're are two types of them (one with bullet nib and brush nib, and one with bullet nib and chisel nib) And they were my starter set for markers. I highly recommend them as a copic alternative.

I'm so miffed! I had the chance to get Tiger markers when I went to Italy a few months back, but I didn't think they were the real deal, so I didn't get them! Now I know and I SERIOUSLY regret not picking some up!

On most brands of alcohol based markers U can substitute the scissor nib with a copic brush nib, which costs around 2$ a piece and comes in packs of 3 nibs. So U can have a great marker for about 2,50-3,50 $. I do it with the tiger markers, and it is amazing. If the marker gets empty, u can decide to wash it with alcohol and refill it with a Copic refill color or U buy a new cheap marker and put the copic nibs on the new one.

I just bought a product design 40 pc set of touchfive twin tip markers on amazon uk for £21. Haven't arrived yet but the reviews were all excellent. They have different colour sets for like product design, architecture, animation, fashion design and stuff too which is really handy

I've only recently tried out my alcohol based markers but this video is super handy as I'd rather try out some cheaper alternatives before splurging on ones the Copics or Promarkers - thanks you guys!

With ohuhu I think that it’s ok with where you get random, since if you do get duplicates, because they don’t do refills, I think that it is absolutely fine!

Thanks for putting in some stylefile markers :D I've never seen one single video where they got mentioned and this was really helpful for me to compare them (yes the, are German)

There are also touch new markers. My friend has them and they are really nice to use. No brush tip and the plastic swatches are a little off. However, the cheap price makes up for that. 🙂

I have a pack of chameleon pens and I LOVE them! They are super high quality and are very pigmented (unless you use the mixing chamber, obviously)
