I liked L-337 a LOT. I mean, not like Lando did. (Do NOT lend that man your mobile phone.) If you only take a superficial look at L-337, the droid will only ever be a bit character. If you look closer, you can see where the droid comes from, why it is the way it is. And how where it ends up casts a shadow across the Millennium Falcon through the whole franchise as Han's ship, giving the ship itself greater depth as a character in it's own right.

Great video, Allan! Really enjoyed your breakdown of the deadliest droids in the Star Wars galaxy. Your insights into how these droids parallel modern advancements in warfare were particularly thought-provoking. Corrections: Buzz Droids' Targeting Systems: You mentioned that Buzz Droids lacked friend-or-foe identification and would attack any nearby metal target indiscriminately, including friendly ships. However, in "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith," Buzz Droids are shown specifically targeting enemy starfighters during the Battle of Coruscant. This suggests they do have targeting protocols to distinguish between friend and foe. L3-37's Demise: You stated that someone threw a detonator at L3-37, leading to her destruction and preventing a potential galaxy-wide droid rebellion. In "Solo: A Star Wars Story," L3-37 is actually shot by enemy forces while liberating droids on Kessel. She wasn't destroyed by an explosive device but was fatally damaged by blaster fire during the escape. Suggestions for Additional Deadly Droids: BX-Series Droid Commandos: These elite Separatist droids were more advanced than standard battle droids, with enhanced agility, tactical programming, and combat skills. They posed a significant threat to Clone Troopers and could operate independently or in squads for sabotage and assassination missions. SCORPIO: From "Star Wars: The Old Republic," SCORPIO is an advanced assassin droid with self-evolving AI. Her ability to adapt, learn, and manipulate made her a formidable opponent, challenging even the most powerful Force users. IG-RM Thug Droids: Featured in "Star Wars Rebels," these droids were used by criminal organizations like the Broken Horn Syndicate. They were strong, durable, and programmed for combat, making them deadly enforcers. Mandalorian Protector Droids: Specifically designed to guard Mandalorian vaults and secrets, these droids were equipped with advanced weaponry and beskar armor, making them incredibly tough to defeat. EV-Series Supervisor Droids (EV-9D9): While not frontline combatants, EV-9D9 units were notorious for their cruelty and efficiency in overseeing operations, including droid torture and reprogramming, which could indirectly lead to deadly outcomes. The Sith War Droids: Used during the Old Republic era, these droids were built for warfare against Jedi and Republic forces, often equipped with lightsaber-resistant armor and heavy weaponry. Again, thanks for the fantastic content! Your deep dives into Star Wars lore always make my day. Looking forward to your next video!

For deadly, there is an extremely underrated one not mentioned. The lightsaber training droids in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Luke refers to it being incredibly dangerous if set to his training regimen. Remove safety protocols, give it a lightsaber, cover it's vital components in beskar plates and that is one dangerous mfer. For bonus badassery, give it a blaster in it's off hand.

That beginning bit is why I subscribe; taking the lessons we should be learning from Star Wars and not only spelling them out but directly connecting them to the real world. Personally i think we're still a VERY long way off from actual autonomous combat units, a computer system is just way too liable to, say, mark a civilian apartment building as an enemy bunker, and I also don't think remote control is very practical due to the proliferation of E-warfare systems on the battlefield and the limitations that puts on combat effectiveness, but it's definitely true that militaries will be looking into increased automation in order to cut down on manpower requirements.

G0-T0 should make the top of the list. He didnt start as a droid but became one, created one of the deadliest crime organisations in the galaxy, influenced the politics of the old republic and fough off the Hutts alone. In addition we have his in advanced droid models which got a personal shield, torture equipment, heavy blasters, flame throwers, a droid disruptor and a proton bomb that is strong enough to blow up a ship like the Ebon-Hawk. Then of course we have his personal ship he created, one of the most advanced ships of the era.
