Great vid. I have just bought the R1250GSA over the R1300. Yes, price was a factor but ultimately it was a heart over mind purchase. Love the R1250GSA look and the new R1300 didn't do it for me. 😎

@@niksanike6583 have you ridden both of these bikes at all? I do admit that the 1300 GS is a better bike but does it justify for a 1250 GS/A owner to upgrade? In my case no, sorry. Maybe I will change my mind with the adventure model. Right now, the GS presents itself as a very expensive bike if you pack it with all the extras that you have on a similar 1250GS. Also their configuration options are confusing as hell at the moment and I think that this might improve with the GSA version since the packs will be a bit more streamlined. But I'm willing to sacrifice the looks for a better power and handling improvement. It's just that the 1300GS looks so bad, without that real characteristic of bad boy bike it had. Now it's a more Ducati / Japanese style bike that I never liked. Now, regarding your comment of V-told's ethics, well...he doesn't give a rats f*ck to brands or their agendas. You should know this by know if you follow his channel. He does not care about it and he just puts his honest opinion out that is similar to what any other real experienced biker thinks.

@@niksanike6583 For me it's not a matter of affording or not, it's just a matter if it makes sense or not. To spend money on something very similar to what I have may not be the smartest move. From the Africa Twin to the GS, yes its a total different game. As I said, I will wait for the Adventure model and make a decision afterwards since I have a leasing and I can change or upgrade it whenever I want.

Thank you for a very useful comparison. I did had a go with the new 1300 GS and man, it is a stunning capable up grade! It rides In dynamic mode, almost like a supermotard bike, it’s wonderful. The suspensions and the difference of the riding modes is huge! The bike breeds technology by every pore .The quickshifter is way better than on the 1250, and the engine… There will be no more talks about the lack of end power of the Gs, like people use to acuse the 1250 GS and GSA because now in my opinion, the bike is fast, and leveling up to KTM 1290 SAS or Ducati Multistrada`s performance. In torque’s wise its superior. We can feel it very clearly. Lighter, slimmer, more fun to ride. But it didn’t lose its identity what is a great thing…The trophy decoration is my favorite. I’m sold! 👌🏻

Right, now this may end the theoretical discussions about "underpowered" GS, however, it's still one of the weakest in the group, so it won't allow for boosting an ego too much here. I also like the Trophy the most - and it's a pretty fresh color scheme for a GS. All it all, there's controversy in some areas, mostly design which could be fixed almost at any time just by playing with that front lamp and the whole face a bit. Cheers!

But so happy it's there because I'm planning to use it for motorway tickets, for euro coins for toll roads. This is real nightmare for example in Italy when sometimes you need to take of your gloves several times. Compartment is waterproof, may be accessed with gloves on and can be very convenient during trips.

The r1250gs and gsa have linked brakes the ecu can distribut the applied brakeforce between front and rear brakes if it feels its necessary. It explains this in tbe manual and one time i slid sideways going up my wood ramp so i declutched and grabbed front brake but fir abouta second i started to slide with my front wheel locked but suddenly my rear brake locked on buy i never touched it my feet were both on the ground

I have some questions about the lighting. 1. The loss of a rear brake light seems significant to me, but there is still room for a reflector? 2. The front turn indicators are in the hand protectors. I would have thought these to be sacrificial in an accident (everything from bashing them into a tree, to a fall of the bike). These decisions are not making a lot of sense to me, and might be indicative of the decisions actually coming from the Finance department. I hope that I am not witnessing the decline of what has been a great motorcycle and an icon.
@VToldsMotoShow

Perhaps it would be possible to attach an additional stop light in the rear but these two incorporated into the indicators are really strong. The downside is that indicators get less visible which is also the case of the R 1250 GS with this new style just with a tail lamp. To me it simply looks strange. In the front the indicators can be also chosen to remain in the standard place. The ones in the hand guards would appear as more fancy to me, so I doubt that there are any costs savings there.

Ground clearance data is not available? Can't you like, oh I don't know, maybe measure it by any chance?
@VToldsMotoShow
10 ай бұрын
It crossed my mind but I don't think that it's possible for any user to do it just like that. We'd have to know if there are specific criteria like with how much fuel the bike has to be, should it be a base (lightest) version, which parts we may disregard (center stand?) etc. I'm not sure if such standards exist but not being certain may spoil the results. Also, a very precise tool should be used, especially that sometimes those small differences matter. I see the point, I considered it but eventually gave up on an attempt.

@@VToldsMotoShow But you own a motorbike, don't you? So what I was thinking about is checking in the specs what the claimed ground clearence is, and then trying to measure it in different ways, so that your measurement will match the claimed one, and hence giving you a hint of a criteria used.

Thank you for this honest and awesome comparison. The 1250 gsa I can ensure that it has linked brakes on the front hand brake, so if you brake with the front brake, it will active the front and the rear brake. The foot brake activates the rear brake only. Is the new 1300gs activating linked braking no matter what brake you use? Is it possible to disable it?
@VToldsMotoShow
10 ай бұрын
Yes, in the new it's a "fully" linked system, so the rear brake is or may activate the front one too. In 1250 it's supposed to only work one way: front activating also the rear but not the other way around. I believe it's not possible to deactivate it but it's supposed to be intelligent in a way of not putting us in danger when using the rear only on a 1300.
