@@theburlyburrito to be more precise, could we say they all rely on Bible interpretation, instead of Bible? Because Catholic can explain by relying on tradition they are following on their Bible interpretation. As for example the idea of strong church organisations, they can use some verse to support that claim (as u could use some other to support direct link between believer and God). We have hundreds of différents Christian churches, and they all say the have the truth by reading the Bible, but they don’t have the same interpretation of the text.

@@alexd6393 No, the issue with that statement is that Catholics/Orthodox believe tradition to be just as authoritative as the Bible and many of these traditions developed separately from the Bible, this is not to say that they don’t have a reverence for the Bible. Thank you brother for interesting information , but if the holy bible is the word of God , how come that one man such Martin Luther has the power to reject these 7 books from the Canon bible and even the Catholic church rejected 2 books from the Orthodox church ( 3rd Maccabees and 4th Maccabees ) that does not make sense.
@tessa7413
4 жыл бұрын
@Per Bondesen wrong. Luther did indeed remove 7 OT books from the canon, along with several chapters & verses from Daniel & Esther. He labled them "apocrypha" and placed them in the appendix. Martin Luther had also temporarily removed several NT books - James, Jude, Hebrews, & Revelation - but he had to put them back in due to push back from his followers. Later, in the 1800's that set of scripture (which Martin Luther had taken out of the canon) was removed altogether from the Protestant Bible during the printing process. These books have *always* been included in the Catholic canon since the canonization of the Bible close to the year A.D. 400, and were read during Liturgy long before the canonization of the Bible. The Books were not "added" during the Council of Trent. Rather, at the Council of Trent, the canon of the Bible was "reaffirmed" because of the madness of the Protestant revolt and the butchering that Martin Luther had done to their version. It was to reaffirm to Catholics that the whole Bible as they already knew it was indeed sacred, inspired, & protected, in contrast with Protestants who felt that they could remove whatever books they wanted.

Apo 6:9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne; Apo 6:10 they cried out with a loud voice, "O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before thou wilt judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell upon the earth?" Apo 5:8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints; Apo 5:9 and they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy art thou to take the scroll and to open its seals, for thou wast slain and by thy blood didst ransom men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation, Apo 5:10 and hast made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on earth." Apo 5:12 saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" Apo 5:13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all therein, saying, "To him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might for ever and ever!" Apo 5:14 And the four living creatures said, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped. Jua 17:21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. Jua 17:22 The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, Jua 17:23 I in them and thou in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them even as thou hast loved me. Efe 3:10 that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places. Efe 3:21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen. Efe 4:3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Efe 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, Efe 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, Efe 4:6 one God and Father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all. Efe 4:7 But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. Efe 4:8 Therefore it is said, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." Efe 4:9 (In saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth? Efe 4:10 He who descended is he who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) Efe 4:11 And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, Efe 4:12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, Efe 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; Efe 4:14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles. Efe 4:15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, Apo 19:7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; Apo 19:8 it was granted her to be clothed with fine linen, bright and pure"-- for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. Apo 19:9 And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are true words of God." LUKE 3:23 The words "(as was supposed)" appearing in brackets are not in the original Greek manuscript of Luke! These words are a gloss of the translators. In the different vernacular languages of the world, like Arabic, Afrikaans, Zulu, etc. the words "as was supposed" are retained in the translations but the brackets are removed. Thus by removing the brackets the words become the declaration of Luke, and if Luke was inspired then the words are transmuted into an utterance of God. Apo 5:8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints; Apo 5:9 and they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy art thou to take the scroll and to open its seals, for thou wast slain and by thy blood didst ransom men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation, Apo 5:10 and hast made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on earth." Apo 5:12 saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" Apo 5:13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all therein, saying, "To him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might for ever and ever!" Apo 5:14 And the four living creatures said, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped. That's only if you consider Anglicans as protestants, most Protestants do not and neither does the Anglican Church itself, with the whole Via Media approach. @@markncl100 Anglicanism is one of the largest branches of Protestant Christianity. The Anglican Church and Anglicans are very aware that they are Protestant. From King Henry the viii to the Act of Settlement 1701 stating that English and Irish monarchs can only be Protestants there is a long history of associating the two. More recently would be the situation in Ireland between Catholics and Protestants. Anglican Churches in each country will have a Bishop as the head of the church and they are all connected to the Church of England where the Archbishop of Canterbury is the religious head. I understand that you may have a different perspective but from my personal perspective they do not only hold statues but also may have other gods as Mary. What is weird is that the pope is called “Holy” and “Father” which The Bible says not to call anyone father except the Heavenly Father. Also The Bible says that “God does not change” and “It is easier for heaven and Earth to pass away than a tittle of the law to change.” Catholicsm will worship on Sunday while The Bible says that it is on the seventh day that is the Sabbath. I am not saying this to be judgemental but telling you what the scripture says and hopefully you can see what is right or wrong.

Hope ! Unfortunately these are the usual misconceptions about Catholicism. We believe that the Bible is God’s word, all of it. So when the Apostles celebrate on the Lord’s day, that would be Sunday. If that were not the case and God did not allow it, it would not have been in Sacred Scripture.

Also Islam believes the Bible was corrupted by the 7th century the Jews and Catholic scripture, per Imams, the Bible cannot be trusted. They also don’t believe Jesus died on the cross but a switcheroo was done during the crucifixion. Similar is NOT the same. It’s like comparing Vanilla to Vanillin or Sugar and Sucralose. The “prove it in scripture” defense is also a Muslim technique, adopted by Protestants in the 16th century. In the Grand Scheme of things. Orthodox Jews and Orthodox Catholics hold closer to the original faith. Everything else is a modern day sect using these original religions as a tool for nationalistic not spiritual growth. Christianity is the most rounded and well balanced religious truth. The truth is out there, just be open to the Holy Spirit and let it guide you with Knowledge, wisdom, courage, the fear of the Lord , Awe & wonder. Eventually it will make sense.

God does not have a mother that is just a very ridiculous idea. Also Roman Catholicism and Islam are just two sides of the same AntiChrist coin. The RCC counterfeits and corrupts the ministry of Christ whereas Islam opposes Christ by teaching that Jesus wasn't crucified. Another thing both AntiChrist have in common is the killing of Christians and of the two the RCC are by far the worse. During the papal tyranny on Europe over 50 million were tortured and murdered. These are historical facts that cannot be denied.

@@Jasho-Beam I understand your frustrations but We’re talking about the mother of God who is sacred in the eyes of Catholics and immaculate in the eyes of our Muslims families..but weather you like it or not ( brothers and sisters) Jesus is the son of God, savior of the world, and the king of kings..I know our Muslims families disagreed - but what matters to me is they love the Virgin Mary- and that’s enough for me..and the Virgin Mary is the mother of God. our lord Jesus Christ the Son Of The Most High… we all can disagrees and argue day and night.but no one will win only when we die only then we can confirm the truth ( and who’s in heaven , purgatory and hell ) till then keep praying!! there is a warning in the book of revelation...those who add and those who delete...it seems that these two religion are guilty of adding or subtracting words in the scripture...73 while the other is 66 books...and who gave them the authority to canonized a book and declare it ....word of God....
@AnimalLover-yi5ik

Ronnie Malate they didn’t have bibles when the book of Revelation was being written. They only used scrolls 📜 back then. So in reality, the Book of Revelation is NOT warning against removing or adding to the Bible. The Book of Revelation is actually warning against removing words or adding words to the Book of Revelation, NOT the Bible because there were no bibles back then, only separate individual scrolls. The Eritrean and Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Churches were founded long before the Catholic Church and they actually have more books in their bibles than the Catholics do because the Catholic Church actually removed several books from the Bible. The Eritrean and Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Churches have the largest Bible canon in the world. Around 81 books in total I believe.

What do you mean? "Worship of Saints". I am a Catholic. We don't worship the saints with the relics. We venerate them. Because each relics is a sign of a Miracle from God. Which means that the relics are dedicated to the Saints that a Miracle is from God. Like the incorrupted Heart of St. Pio. Remains incorrupted. Because he is a Saint. And because he is a Saint, God showed a sign that St. Pio is really a Saint by making the heart of St. Pio incorrupted for eternity. Each relics have Miracles from God to those who Believe in God and Praying to God through the intercession of the Saint.
