I believe the translated license only applies to specific nations

Many thanks to your video. I've got driving experience in Japan some ten years ago, and will do it again in coming May. Your self refueling gas station is something new that I didn't have experience with last time I drove in Japan

Here in California gas is about $5 a gallon you always have to prepay for gas at the pump or inside cashier. We have a new driving while distracted law no electronic devices allowed which I agree with that 100% so no TVs or hand help cell phones, laptops etc. So many people are driving with a cell phone in their hand so many accidents people getting injured or killed. We don't have speed cameras, I guess caus no one out here drives the speed limit but I do. Thanks

Ive been thinking about taking a vacation to Japan in the future. Good to know some of the things are the same as they are in America. From what I understand you CAN blow right thru a red light as long as you see a green arrow in the direction you want to go. In America you can only turn right on red after stop depending on what state.
@GaijinTipsJapan

That's correct. If you see a green arrow then you're allow to follow it, even if the light above the arrow is red.

You can't turn if you see a sign that says "No turn on red".

Yeah but a car gives you more freedom like our trip in japan won't be possible by travelling with train/public transport and if you have 4 ppl to share the cost it's waaaay cheaper than buying JR pass for 4 person

How do you translate the international drivers license?
@michellesimpson6143
5 жыл бұрын
Google JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) and find the nearest office in your prefecture. You can make an in-person application or by mail.
@Frodokeuh

I got mine at the JAF office in tokyo (there are other offices in different cities) you don't need an appointment you just go there with your licence and it only take like 2 hours if it's not busy

The JAF website very specifically says "Please note that JAF does not offer translation services for International Driving Permits"

According to 2:11, once you merge onto a highway you see a 80 speed limit sign, then when should you accelerate to 100?

You should follow the signs if you want to avoid trouble by the police. There are unmarked police cars all over the expressway. But the speed limit +10-20 km/h will be fine, and look around the behavior of japanese drivers.

"Why?" is a very good question. It's just in their culture to think "As long as the other side doesn't have green yet, I can still pass."

l really love driving on the left lane. l hate driving on the right lane. l love Japanese cars also. They are the best. l am really so sad that Vietnam drives on the right lane. it would be perfect if they drove on the left lane like Japan. And thank God that you can just go to get a licence without any effort ,to drive in japan, when you are born and lived out of japan.

100kmh top speed on the highway?! Fines are probably not cheap in Japan are they? Japan is no place for a driver like me XD I normally drive at 130kmh on country roads in Bulgaria and 160+ on the highway... Fines are fairly cheap and cops hide around the usual spots you expect them to be.
