Dehumidifiers are brilliant for drying washing indoors, and also for helping to prevent damp and mould in the house. I wouldn’t be without mine!

Same, never had a problem with mould as we contain clothes drying to one room and all the moisture is sucked out. The clothes of course dry quicker as a result

Same here, one of the best purchases I’ve made. Also very good for summer humidity (rare, as I’m in the UK) but a godsend nonetheless.

1. Clothes airer (good compromise; clothes airer as starter and finish it off in the tumble dryer) 2. DriBuddy or alternative 3. Dehumidifier 4. Use a radiator (don't hang them directly over the radiator) 5. Towel dry some of your clothes 6. desk fan + clothes airer , will circulate the air around the clothes. or put them outside in the wind 7. on your washing machine check the spin settings, use the maximum in the program. alternative start an extra spin at the end of the program. 8. don't overload your washing machine (up to 2/3) 9. use tumble dryer; tip; try doing full loads 10. get a heat tumble dryer if possible, uses half the energy

Had to come to the comments to see what that thing is called lol. I've never seen one of these in the US and the captions called it an era or an error, and I thought you were saying "arrow" because it had a point in the middle maybe? Of course "airer" makes perfect sense but I've never even heard that word before, even on British TV shows unlike lorry/ lift/ biscuit/ chips etc where is referring to something common over here. Growing up in the countryside we had clotheslines, but these airers make perfect sense for smaller spaces Admittedly power is still very cheap for me (11c per kWh here in Texas) as of yesterday (Dec 14) we are still just running the aircon a bit every day here so usage is low

I have a cheap heated airer from Argos and it's useless it only heats the part that touches the metal bars. Some do come with the cover which are said to be better but again it has to be on a long time. The best are like 250 quid which you could put on the electric the tumble dryer uses. As he also mentioned after washing clothes stick it on a second drain and spin cycle for 10 mins it should get rid of more moisture that way then throw in tumble dryer. The sensor should see it's not too wet and reduce the time it's on thus saving energy.

A heat pump dryer is a deumidifier but much more efficient because it have to dry the little air inside of he mschine and not all the air of the room... i was using it when i don't have the dryer, now since years i have dryer a+++ AND IN 1.20 minutes all the clothes are dry! Here sicily 23 degrease today but im still ising dryer even in summer times with 42/43 degreaee! By by

I always spin my washing after the spin cycle

Doesn't really save money, but if I spin the washing machine at it's max and tumble dry at max my towels are stiff and I need a softener. Putting the spin one step down and dry at lower temperature's makes towels softer again and I don't use the softener anymore. I think essentially taking more time to dry with more movement so it keeps soft

To reduce the cost is to run it overnight, when electricity is a bit less expensive. Also, always run a load that is of relevant size. Not just 5 shirts and 5 pieces of underwear for 50 min because that is deffo a waste. And if possible run on LOW temperature setting if you can, your fabrics will thank you.

Heated airers are useless crap. Had mine on all day went out come back after 8 hours and only the part resting on the heated bars were dry. Useless waste of energy.

@@Iris-lk9igThank you for that. Moving into my first adapted bungalow, I keep going back & fourth between a bog standard condenser dryer vs a heat pump. I get so conflicted as there seems to be a handful of people who really dislike the heat pump, but many like it?! I’d be getting one of the more cost effective ones (in the £360-400) Range, & I just want to make sure I’m making the right decision!

Why are consumers buying electric heat pump dryer not finding until after purchase of their dryer not working in cold temperatures or rooms without heating and outdoor buildings in on sales sites this unfortunately is information not disclosed by sales companies and local shops that have removed the operation manual and strategy to stick stickers over the door to prevent opening the doors to take four times longer than normal dryer time to falsely claim that they are energy efficient in lower temperatures and not producing heat like a heat output of the existing dryer being vented or condenser air temperature two cold below 50 degrees in your heat pump dryer does not work. Clogging filters with wet fluff to having to clean filters every time your washing machines spinning cycles of over 12 hundred spin speed of understanding the 3 to four hours to dry a mixture of fabric load and clothes still dampen air cold when you stop the dryer during cycles of no heat felt inside the dryer and the amount of water pumped out of the dryer is more than the conventional condenser dryer and the mis seller of a dryer that is not fit for purpose of taking a whole day to dry two loads of laundry in normal heat dryer 90 minutes per load. I purchased a new dryer to be forced into the new heat pump dryer because a leading supplier of white goods to sale teams pushing out the new dryers and said they are out of stock and some time before they are expected to have new supplies to purchase the same make after years of reliability and straight away from purchase in June of 2022 to be six months old dryer hasn’t worked for the past two months and under warranty of the manufacture of engineer subcontractor for the manufacture said he cannot find anything wrong even though the dryer display will after running a while saying error on the dryer display and spending £500 for 30 weeks ago and in the rainy summer days and hours in use for a single cycle to clothes still dampen air dryer is now headed to the scrap heap of local councils tip to never purchase a Hoover product again and don’t buy into the crap of new energy saving products that take longer to not be true energy saving products to understand the environmental impacts from manufacturing building unreliable equipment to ensure economic growth and wealth for industrial production of inferior goods that is why they only give you a twelve month warranty not like the older generation of quality control and products built to last for giving years of service to not being beneficial for the greediness of the people running their economy and exploitation of their consumers. This wicked government and global warming is a bloody lie to keep the wealthy people of all their investments in new technologies and industries that keeps themselves in luxury cars and goods that we’re not able to afford to buy the global elite and richest countries that are exploiting their own people. God Bless Anyone Reading My Review. I’m 65 years old been married for over 42 years now and been a school caretaker years ago and used industrial machinery and had several domestic appliances for to know what I am talking about in cheaper components and products that can’t be repaired in creating a scrap heap world wide in understanding environmental issues that the wealthiest people have created in constant bombarded with global warming policies and pollution control does not exist in greed and health and safety of our planet is not what they are promoting but building a bigger better productive investments opportunities for themselves. Wake up people of this world towers of Babble rising in this country Engaging with other countries in the next generation of slavery and opportunities for generations of families of those trying to get rid of the lower classes of people in the world.
