Locally derived honey is great for helping to deal with allergies, too. I moved several years ago and suddenly found myself dealing with pollen that irritated, and local honey helped! Also, keep a bag of flour in the fridge. If you burn your hand, just stick it in the cold flour... haven't had to try it, yet, but an Aussie friend shared that tip and I have a bag of flour in the fridge just in case.

Local raw honey does the same thing that allergy shots used to do. It gives you tiny doses of the allergen to build up a resistant to it…

Lavender essential oil mixed in the honey before you put it on the wound or burn helps to numb the pain of the burn or cut

I can definitely vouch for the honey on burns!! Several years ago my daughter burned her leg horribly on a dirt bike tail pipe. My father in law recommended the honey, I was skeptical lol! But the honey healed the burn within 3 days! I was expecting 2 weeks to get it healed! I now use it on most wounds and burns. Works better than any OTC stuff! Thanks for sharing these remedies sweet Mary! God bless!

Yes, all of these things are wonderful! Peppermint is really great, not only for tea, but the fresh one is so nice and if you've had a bad day, get some lime juice, a bit of sugar, and add some ice, club soda and white rum... you got yourself a Mojito...that will help with your mood! 😁 And wow, I love apples...an apple a day! Lots of info here Mary, thank you!!!💖🤗

A friend introduced me to anise tea. A palmful of anise seed boiled until it hits the bottom of the pot, strain and drink the water while hot. Settles stomach acid and pain, or nausea quickly! My grandmother boiled quarters for zinc, served the quarter tea with honey. Now you can get zinc OTC and drink tonic water and take zinc. A teaspoon of honey in lemon juice and there you go. My doctor referred lemon water for congestion. Lot of wonderful homemade helps.

That is really true about the honey! I burned a part of my hand yesterday in the oven. First I tried an essential oil blend often good for pain relief but that didn't do the trick. Then I added just a wee bit of raw honey. IT WORKED...! Within moments nearly all the pain was gone.

You are so knowledgeable. This is my favorite kind of video. Thank you so much. I’ve grown my own ginger for years and this year I’m also growing turmeric. Nice big plants so I’m hoping for some good roots. Gotta try that black tea bag trick for the eyes. The mint family has so many wonderful varieties and each has its own gift, but I cannot grow peppermint. All the other mints I’ve tried grow like weeds but peppermint won’t grow for me. Maybe I love it too much. That infusion you’ve taught us-honey infused with garlic and turmeric is superb. I keep it in the refrigerator all fall and winter. Hoping you will do more of this type video.

Mary this is a great list. I love honey. I use raw honey to wash my face when I get eczema. It’s the only thing that doesn’t hurt me, and its ok if I get some on my lips. It won’t make me sick like soap. Olive oil is fabulous. I take the olive leaf capsules, but the oil is wonderful too, it really helps with my atopic eczema. It also helps with blood sugar and viruses. Garlic is my go to for mood. It helps me cope with stress/anxiety. Ginger is what I take for my arthritis. Peppermint is wonderful. I take the oil for my tummy and my breath is great.

mind you RAW honey, not the whatever from the store shelf. Though for burns I have plenty of aloe growing :) salt/sugar or even used coffee grounds make nice scrubs and then there would be #11 baking soda for heart burn if you ate something that gives you heart burn and can't sleep: mix a bit in water and drink.

I made your fire cider tonic last week, I can’t wait to see our it turns out... and I also made your fermented cabbage and I asked my husband to burp it every morning in case I forget to do it since it is in a dark cool cupboard which is out of view and out of mind. This morning he said ‘wow that ferment is sure to be working because when I opened the jar it shot me in the face with its CO2, and it smelled powerful ‘ lol. I have to say that he doesn’t like ferment food to start with so he thought it was quite powerful! But I love it so I can’t wait for it to be ready. I also made some Keto chow-chow last week! It is so awesome, I will make some more for sure, I had never tasted it before and it is a lovely relish that accompany all kind of meat. Yummm.. I make turmeric/black pepper capsules (1/4 the amount of black pepper to every amount of turmeric you use is the proper ratio ) and my husband and I take it everyday. Moringa and Stinging Nettles (not together,lol) make wonderful capsules and tinctures that helps many many ailments... thank you for your wonderful videos...that one was priceless, I love learning about home remedies...have a good week, God bless!

Hi! My sweet mother in law swore by using cinnamon tea for illness. It can stimulate your body to warm itself, making an inhospitable environment for whatever ails you. It’s quite soothing and tasty. Bring cinnamon sticks to a rapid boil and then simmer until sticks open up. I usually do a crock pot full overnight if I am fighting something. Thanks so much for your videos.

So much good information! Thank you! Some of my children are prone to hiccups. The hiccups are a sign of an upcoming migraine for them. There is a vagus nerve/migraine connection. I didn't know about sugar under their tongue! Our go-to remedy is to gently but firmly pull down on their earlobes while they take a few drinks of water. It works every time, but sometimes has to be repeated an hour or so later. I'm going to try the white sugar and see if it gives them longer relief. ❤

Great information. We're doing well. Dad came by today take me out to pay bills and do some shopping. Last time I got heat sick on the way home, there was a 50 percent chance of rain, and Daniel tends to be disruptive in public. He also brought us breakfast and treated us to lunch. I ordered both the navy and olive Teacher Totes today as well. It's my ideal bag as well although I'm just a Mom and geeky (journal, read books, play video games; the only athletic things I do is walk and swing kettlebells). I'm going to especially enjoy the deep beverage/umbrella pockets. I often carry a drink for myself and one for Daniel. They are currently twenty percent off for their back to school sale. Dark blue has always been my favorite color and light to olive green reminds me of Lee's and my deceased younger son Thomas' eye color so I couldn't choose between them. I will alternate them for the most part. If I wear more blue I'll carry the green one and if I wear more green I'll carry the blue one. With any other color I'd likely carry the blue one. Also registered Daniel for school this year. We are going to keep him home but do the Schoology route as we're worried about Covid during the cold and flu season but we're not allowed to change it for the rest of the school year.

Hi Mary, such a nice informational video.. with your sweet smile and positive energy ! I also prefer more use of home remedies, even our previous generations did the same.. We all have a treasure of home remedies, just we need to appropriately know where and when to use them ! One thing for hiccups, we also eat some sugar and then drink water over it.. or small deep breaths for about 5-6 times also help.. Keep posting such informative videos☺️👍🏻 Much love 😊❤️

In one of your videos you talked about the little muslin bags you would give your son to carry with him, depending what was going on with him. Do you have a video or listing of the blends? I gave a 5 and 2 year grandsons that I would love to make these for
@MarysNest

Hi Linda, That is such a good idea but I do not have a video on it. I will have to add it to the list. Usually what I would do would take a little muslin bag with a draw string and fill it with spicing smelling herbs and spices - like cinnamon sticks, cloves, all spice berries, rosemary, etc. - for him to inhale to help clear up congestion related to a cold. I would be careful about giving it to a 2 year old because they might open the bag and potentially choke on the contents - or the smell might be too strong for their nasal linings. But the 5 year old might enjoy it as long as they know not to remove the contents. You could also try sewing the bag shut. Love, Mary

@@MarysNest ... Another winner is Absorbine Jr. for wasp, bee, wood bee, yellowjackets. I got nailed by 11 yellowjackets several years ago. I put AJ on the stings and in 5 minutes I couldn't feel or see where they were. The same weekend my husband got stung by 2 wood bees on his foot. He was in a lot of pain but within 10 minutes all of the pain was gone. Completely gone.

@@WholeBibleBelieverWoman ... Yes mam, right out of the bottle. 1-2 drops is about all that's needed. I do sometimes put it on then apply it again in 3-4 minutes just to be safe. What amazes me is not only does it take away the pain but there is usually no sign like a blister. If it's more than a little quick touch of steam or edge of a pan I may put it on 3-4 times within a half hour. So far it's worked.

If you get local honey from your area it will also help if your allergies are acting up. You can also make a cough syrup by combining Honey, English Ivy leaf extract, and ginger. It is awesome. If you want supper cough syrup then add elderberry syrup to the honey, Ivy leaf extract and ginger. Also the black tea bags are good for new mothers that are nursing. The tea bags help with soothe the cracked and sore nipples.

@larrettamullen4023

Just a small addendum... honey works great for burns, however it may not Feel like it's working. You need to keep the honey on the burn for 20 minutes (body heat keeps it drippy so prepare for the mess). If applied quickly and left for the full 20 minutes, there will be no blistering, peeling, scabbing, etc. The burned layer(s) will adhere back down to the live tissues below and once the redness has subsided, the area will be slightly discolored until the natural sloughing of skin replaces old with new. Just remember "Honey for 20". *note* I've never tried it on an open burn wound.

A really strong cold or flu medicine is mixing equal parts of 4 ingredients, honey, olive oil, lemon juice, and strong alcohol like vodka or brandy. Take a tbsp at a time. Very amazing indeed. Shelf stable and gets better with age, though, you can use immediately. I make it as I need it. Sometimes when I don't use it all, it stays till next season, no problem. You can add cinnamon powder which makes it even stronger. So good. You don't need much. I use 1 tbsp of each individual ingredient, add a sprinkle of cinnamon. Mix it up, use it throughout the day. Next day if you need it you make some more. I thought I was dying from non stop coughing for days. A friend brought this to me, next day I was up and made some myself. I was well in a few days.

I use all of these. If I have congestion, I crush some garlic and thyme and maybe some rosemary with Himalayan salt. I dip bread in that and eat it up. So delicious. When I had COVID I ate it but couldn’t taste it so had even more garlic. Took me awhile but I could feel it helping me feel better. Nothing replaces going to the doctor, but since these weren’t going to interfere with my medicine, it was fine. I take some turmeric and black pepper everyday. It helps me with muscle and joint pain. I make my own slat and olive oil scrub. Try to use it once week. Wet my body and then put on the scrub. Then use dr bronzers soap to wash. It really helps my overdry and over sensitive skin. And the sugar cure for hiccups does work. I heard a dr on tv say that many years ago. I tried it and it worked. I keep candy with me to suck on at work because I have to be on the phones all day and hiccups make my work impossible. So glad to have a quick cure

KZitem is getting worse and worse with these commercials. It is hard to understand the message when they pop up every couple minutes. Ignore me just had to many on this one. And now some are almost an hour long. I try to watch at least 30 seconds so you get credit.

The plethora of commercials made watching this video very unenjoyable. You were constantly interrupted mid sentence. 😔😔😔😔😔

So sorry to hear that. KZitem has instituted a new policy where they automatically put mid-roll adds in all videos but I gather it is different for every viewer. I don't completely understand all the changes yet. They were just implemented on July 27. Thanks for your patience as I learn and find out how to make adjustments. Love, Mary
