They were created as an insult. It was improper to eat with your hands or rather fingers. The chef who created them was cross with a customer who kept sending food back and demanding things. So as a way to insult the man he shaved potatoes and fried them knowing the customer would have to use his dirty sausage stumps to pick them up. The guy friggen loved them and got a bunch of other people ordering them. That's what you call revenge backfiring instantly.

the coca was not added to make it more addictive. initially, Coca-Cola was marketed as a migraine and lethargy cure, which is exactly what cocaine is. I don't have time to check, but I suspect it didn't even have caffeine until cocaine was made illegal and they needed another way to achieve the effects. addiction was just a side benefit for the company.

Play-doh was originally a wall cleaner. Back when coal was used to heat houses, this substance was marketed as an cleaner to clean the coal dust off the wall paper. When coal became obsolete for cleaning houses, a wife of one of the manufacturers brought it with her to school because she was a teacher. She saw some of her students play with it and make shapes with it. She then made more without the harmful chemicals, added food coloring, and called it Play-doh.

David Rodriguez - crack *is* cocaine. It's just a re-cooked, hardened form of it, made to allow for smoking the drug and to get a stronger, faster high. But to make crack, all you really need is cocaine, water, baking soda, and heat. Or so says documentaries.
@waltteriheikkinen7694
7 жыл бұрын
+Cassie C Yeah, but you'll get a more pure high from pure coke rather than processing it and mixing it with baking soda and all that other shit. Most dealers do that cuz, (just examples) let's say a kilo of coke costs 20k, ok? You process it down to crack and suddenly you got 2 kilos both worth 15k for example totaling it to 10k of profit. But if i wanted a good high i'd go for coke as itself not crack.

Crazy glue was initially used medically to close minor wounds. It was used extensively in Vietnam for lacerations that soldiers would get from the jungle underbrush. Having an open wound in such a wet and swamp like environment invited all kinds of infection. So, superglue would be used to seal the wound together after cleaning. Bandages were not necessary since the wound was covered with the layer of glue and would have only held excessive moisture against the injury.

Did you know that if every single human on the planet was vegan, then we'd basically eat up all of their food so most of the species that rely on that sort of supply would be extinct and dead anyway? Also, recent studies show that plants emit a chemical that many could debate means that the plant feels "Loved" when taken care of, and it tries to save itself when it's being harmed or cut down. Now pass me a goddamn cheeseburger 'cause there ain't no winning here.

Play-Doh was originally produced as a wallpaper cleaner. It was very effective in removing soot from wallpaper. But by the mid 1940's, people were no longer using coal to heat their homes, so no more need for a wallpaper cleaner! Unfortunately, the manufacturer, Mattel or whatever it is, still had a warehouse full of the stuff. So after some brainstorming as to what to do with it, and adding some pretty colors to it, they advertised it as a toy to parents with young children. Thus, Play-Doh was born in 1950's America, and has been played with by kids ever since!

Okay first I love your videos and watch them all day! so dont stop. second if you want a sequel to this video I have two more! My favorite is play doh! it originally was a cleaning putty to remove coal dust from the wallpaper of kitchens from the stoves. When they stopped using coal they were about to go bankrupt (for a second time...first the company made something else, when they were going to lose the company, he lied to a store owner about having a way to clean wallpaper without damaging it with chemicals, he lied, but now went home and w a famiiy member created the clay) anyway, the mans sister let her kids play with it (she was a teacher) she told her brother that the kids loved it. so he removed the cleaning chemicals, added color, and there you go lol second is slinky, it was discovered while trying to create a weapon(double check that i can't remember exactly) and the person knocked it over and it fell down on things like it would down stairs. anyway I just thought i would let you know...mostly so you would make another one of these video because I love origins! you need the find the other 8, good luck lol thanks again for videos!

One pretty crazy thing, is how we got the cocolatechip cookie. When a factory was making sugar cookies, so chocolate fell in. They were about to be thrown away, but instead they put them in the workers lounge. They decided to make start doing that, but they wanted them to not only taste like cocolate cookies, so instead of just chocolate, they used chocolate chips

James Millwood Fitness Fun Fact: Coca-Cola Still has cocaine in it. However, the alchaloid (the Chemical in cocaine that causes addictions) were taken out a long time ago when Coca-Cola realized that people were becoming scarily addictive to the leisure and de-indigestion drink. (I understand that I misspelled alchaloid but ghfjdtxhv)

PlayDoh was originally used as a wallpaper cleaner to remove the coal stains caused by coal furnaces. As the coal furnaces were replaced by natural gas furnaces, the product became obsolete. Not wanting to lose money on what had been a very lucrative product, they removed anything that might be toxic from the material , added bright dye for the colors we know now, and marketed and sold it as what we now know as Play-Doh. They didn't lose a penny and probably made more money off of changing it.

I hate automatic transmissions. I have a standard shift. But funny that when I showed up to buy my car, every guy there was shocked to see that a woman was asking for the standard shift. The manager then wanted to try and double the price of the car. I told him I would walk and he was going to have a hard time selling it anyway. Most folk can't drive and don't want Standards. He gave me a sales WOMAN to complete my very good deal he gave me, lol. Nothing like pulling up next to someone and revving my engine, and then smirk over at them with the 'Wanna race' look, then blow them away by the time I hit 3rd gear. LOVE it.

Play-Doh started life as wallpaper cleaner. it was used to remove coal soot from walls. with the advent of heaters it was no longer needed and the company nearly went bankrupt. it was saved when a relative of one of the owners needed something for her students to play with. she added the colors red, blue, yellow, and green to make it more fun to play with and Play-Doh was born
