About washing: Avoiding synthetic fibres to the best of my ability, because they need special treatment when washing, like anti-electric rinsing. Avoiding perfumed products all together, btw, because they are damaging for both the life in the seas and for allergic people. Even with organic and fair trade cotton comes the minus, that new products shrink, so it is important to buy big enough items, so then they last longer. We should get new laws to forbid clothing that shrinks and have high taxes for synthetic products for the damage they cause, as they are not biogradable, etc. Also I'm avoiding red colours, because they bleed the most - so I sort textiles in "all white", colours, and sensitive black (as a very small category). Wool is special, though, but doesn't need much washing - mostly airing is enough.

@@DNA350ppm .. you can avoid having red or black clothes from ruining your other clothes by adding salt to the washing machine. Just pour it around the tub when you add detergent. It sets the dyes and keeps them from ever bleeding onto your other items. One time is all you need to do it. Learned this tip decades ago when I worked in the men's dept of a large dept store. And never ever wash expensive colorful clothes in Tide detergent! Tide is made for greasy, muddy, work clothes NOT for nicer clothes.

Organize when you feel inspired , yes exactly. I try to remove, declutter or just tidy up a bit each day. Its refreshing to not make a huge job of things. keeps it simple for me.

I have really enjoyed watching your videos! I have been decluttering and moving towards a minimalist lifestyle for only the last five weeks! I am loving it! One thing that has made all the difference is giving my main living space a fresh coat of paint!! My house now looks even more fresh and clean and decluttered!!!

I have always used a little hack. I have a staircase which leads up to my bedroom. Whenever I am tidying and I find something that should go upstairs, I leave it at the bottom of the stairs. And here's the great thing, when I need something from upstairs I generally race to get up there, and then I notice the stuff at the bottom which needs to go up, stuff I have actually already forgotten about, so of course I take that up with me. One trip, for maybe dropping things several times a day at the bottom of the stairs. It works for me and saves unnecessary journeys

What a nice home productivity hack 😄 I don't stairs in my home but if I will ever move to one that has, I'll definitely use this 😉

Here is an extra benefit to changing out your clothes seasonally. Once I have worn some item in the present season, I turn the hanger around facing outward. At the end of the season when I am changing out my clothes closet for the next season, I look at the direction of any items I have not worn and decide if I should donate them since they were not worn the entire season.

I really like your personality. You seem so calm and so friendly. You talk in such a kind and neutral way that can only inspire. I have been on the minimalism journey for a while and still have a way to go but I love getting more motivation from new youtubers. Thank you. Btw, that green wall with the monstera and the other couple of details, wow! So aesthetic!!

I'm glad you found me! Yeah recently I've been posting a lot about minimalism and practical tips, so sometimes the videos may seem very similar to each other if you watch multiple in a row. The vibes are very much same in all of them 😄 I aim to tell different stories and share different tips and ideas whenever I can though. Happy to hear you got fresh ideas from them 😊

Very similar to one of yours. When you start a project don’t start any other project until you finish that one even if it takes more than one day. I learned this when I started remodeling my house to make it more convenient. I would start one thing then have a good idea about another and start it then start another until my tools were scattered, I couldn’t find stuff I bought for another project and nothing was finished.

Thank you Yvonne.. this is exactly what I recently noticed. I purchased things for a project and haven’t completed it, so not only have I wasted money but I also have the added stress of mentally being distracted. Glad you brought this up so I’m not alone 💕🇨🇦

Thank you again for inspiration and encouragement in this video, too! I'm glad you didn't get rid of "Afrikan Tähti" - the classic board-game, designed in Finland, but situated in exciting Africa - the children learn geography and to handle money, without noticing even. Four generations involved in it in my family!

Yeah, these days it's super controversial though. I don't know if you have read the conversation about it but basically it can be seen as a racist game. One of those things that I don't really know what to think about and what is right and wrong 😄
@DNA350ppm

@@SunnyKindJourney Have you heard/read that Pippi Langstocking is racist, too? 😀 I have decided to take into consideration the intent, too. Some artists have tried to make a content interesting and fascinating, and share their admiration, and for later generation it doesn't look so good anymore. When I studied in Germany (1970's) adult people thought that Finland was fantastic, because we endured harsh winters when ice-bears (!!!) roamed the streets of Helsinki. And the Elks (Moose) traffic-signs were coveted souvenirs, supposedly free to pick up from beside the roads, they were loose, you know. And back when TV started, Finns really admired black musicians and atlethes, partly because they were exotic to us. In reality these were the first steps to better knowledge and understanding, which I think we should not be ashamed of, as they were made in sincere good-will. (BTW it's not that I would like any gold or diamonds, not even southern tea or coffee, if it is not organic fair trade, since the -80s. One evolves...)
