Antonio, from my picture you can tell... I'm a farmer! I may have to wear work clothes while in the fields. However, when I go out I like to look well dressed. That's why I have been watching you videos for over a year now. Thanks for all your advice, and hard work. Every time I try something new, and people say I look good, I say to myself... "Thanks Antonio"!

1. Always be confident with what you wear. 2. Only wear things that fit (place, weather and fitting) 3. Make adjustements with your tailor 4. Know your Barber -> go to a haircut every month (best prepaid & prereserved) 5. Take care of your clothing (clean your shoes once a week & batch, outsource your cleaning) 6. Everything has a place -> so you dont have to search for stuff 7. Spend Wisly -> always ask yourself before a purchase of over 200 Dollar "Is this going to be stylish in 10/20 years?", ask your self if things will be worth it 8. The clothing you wear should be functional and confortable (this will take your outfit from looking good to feeling good) 9. Preset the details -> e.g. have business card in the suit 10. You dress for yourself, dont correct others but only take advise if you want

Black and grey suits. No shiny materials and without stripes. White shirts. Modest ties.(allthough silk) Black shoes and socks. Shower every day. Shave every day. Cut your hair once a month. And cut your nails once a week. No perfume, after shave etc., but do use breath mints. Only ''extravagance'' is a golden Tissot Swiss dresswatch my parents gave me for my 21th birthday in 1968. But only me knows the value of that. For the winters a long black overcoat (cashmere 27 years old) Then matched with a darkbleu silk scarve. And recently a black polished wooden walking stick. A matching attitude goes with your style. You NEVER shout, swear or use vulgar language. You will ALLWAYS adress strangers with ''sir'' or ''madam'', no matter how they look. And youngsters and kids with ''young man/lady'' You show respect for women and elder persons (well, I'm starting become one myself). You do NOT use mobile phones in public places. And a gentleman will walk, but NEVER run.

Hi there. My response/message to you here doesn't directly relate to this post. I'm a semi hands on professional within the construction industry in Ireland (run my own plumbing and heating business). So here it is, most people I meet see me dressed in work wear which I like to keep smart. Yesterday I had to attend an opening event for a project we just worked on. I had just watched your post on how to wear a sports jacket with jeans, I followed your guidance on this and implemented some of your other tips. WOW , I had compliment after compliment the entire evening, even the door men at a club we went to afterwards noticed me and other guests did to. It gave me amazing confidence. I am a very happily married family man but holy cow, women of all ages turn their heads at a sharply dressed guy. Thank you. Looking forward to using more of your tips.

Mr. Centeno, excellent advice! I personally would keep one kerchief in my blazer, though -- the one I normally carry in my pants pocket. I need it to wipe the oil off my face, so I need an absorptive white cloth rather than a stylish synthetic fabric. But then I'm still applying your other principle of putting function before style/trendiness.

His point about dressing for yourself is great. You must be comfortable in your own skin. You may have the best cut and suit but if you're not comfortable with it and you don't feel it it will look odd on you. I see this a lot with haircuts. Guys like a particular cut or suit but they lack the confidence to pull it off. If you want something a bit risky make sure you have the character to pull it off.

Hi Antonio. A masterful video indeed which I have already circulated directly to some of my colleagues, and, of course, tweeted at your accompanying page. I love the term pre-setting. This is what I have been doing with my cuffinks, tie clips, lapel pins and tie tacks (which I wear as a lapel pin in the style of Edward Woodward as The Equalizer) collection. I actually had to do this as my collection amounts to 100's of pieces of merchandise, so I really need to have everything ready prepared before I attire myself with these items. You just keep raising the bar in terms of the value you give out. Thank you so sincerely. Toodles, Andrew 007

Antonio exceellent video as always! Great advice. I agree about organizing your clothes and shoes. I totally agree with you about dressing for you. I live in San Diego, and I dress very traditional in a very casual work environment. I also wear clothes based on weather and occasion. Being from Boston originally, I live to dress the Ivy League look, which is button down, Oxford shirts, dress slacks, traditional New England style Penny loafers, and, of course, classical haringbone tweed jackets with the elbow patches. I love this look. For casual foot ware, I wear New England style boat shoes, such as Bass, Timberland, and Sperry. This look represents me and where I came from. I also wear suits with Oxford, wingtip or derby. I have to guard myself when I see so many men dress so badly. I realize it's a choice, but many men don't care. It's sad. I agree you should never force your dress style on someone else. I have gotten different responses on the way I dress, such as whom am I trying to impress or young men asking me about my style of dress. I tell everyone who asked me to blaze your own trail and be a trendsetter. Thank you for your videos and insight. So many men to know this.

I usually have a semi-casual outfit for occasions such as when I go to the grocery store or out with the kids. Jeans, White tee, and brown leather jacket. It says, "I'm a working man with a family, can you tell?" But when I go out to the Mall or out with the wife, I wear black slacks, a dress-shirt, and a sweater vest (Fancy coat if needed). Business owners and people in general react quite differently depending on how I'm dressed, and I like that. My friends ask me for style advice all the time, and I give them advice based on what I know about them and what I've learned from you and Alpha M. But I try not to be a snob about anything if I can help it. I recall one man trying to correct me on how to wear my fob watch and I had to inform him that there was more than one way and was able to show him (I had my tablet available). You never know if someone knows something you don't, so best to leave them be. Besides, I like to add a little flare myself. Usually in a subtle, yet outlandish, pin or prop I carry with me. I wore a Starfleet Pin on my vest for a couple of years, was always a great conversation starter. Like, "Wow! You look sharp! Wait a minute... Is that a Star Trek pin on your vest?"

good question. I've always struggled with them getting bent or lost for one reason or another.

+Michael Garcie Before you wash your dress shirt (or send it to the dry cleaners), make sure you remove your collar stays. Always have them removed during the cleaning process; that also means when you iron your shirt. This article should help - www.realmenrealstyle.com/mens-collar-stays-dress-shirt/

If I was wearing a tie clip in a crooked position, then someone decided to straighten it, I would have asked why they did it. Also if it was the conventional way to wear them. I understood fully what you meant when you said not to give out fashion advice, because not everyone has the same exact taste as you. I am still struggling to find a the right place and person to get my hair done on the regular. It is hard to find one where you feel welcomed and treated like family. But this video helped me to sort out my wardrobe.

+ColossalAtom You got it! Regarding cutting your hair - have you thought about cutting your own hair? This article tells you why you should consider doing that: www.realmenrealstyle.com/home-haircut-with-clippers/

Uhh, Tony? I'm sure you realized after recording this video that your left lapel was inside of your jacket, right? Or are you secretly setting a new trend? Anyways, love all of your advice. Always great stuff!
