Phantom of the Paradise was, for want of a better term, a tool I used to troll a certain young woman on the ASMB (if YKYK) by facetiously claiming it predated and was superior in every way to The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Long story short, it allowed me to get to know, to a greater or lesser degree, the one I knew only as little_girl_lost. She confided a secret to me that I have not revealed, and I hope that one day she will realize that there are those who believe in honor and trust.

Never heard of Warm Bodies, but I definitely need to check it out - it seems right up my alley. I'm not sensitive to "classic comedy" most of the time - to me, most horror movies are actually comedy - this is what makes me laugh. With that being said, some are tragedy too. Since horror doesn't affect me, I see these pretty differently than most I guess. I don't think I would see Warm Bodies as a comedy horror because of that, but rather as drama horror I guess. Also, I'm assuming my beloved The Revenant would fit this theme too? Again, it's a tragedy for me, but it's objectively made to make people laugh too.

You forgot to mention that Phantom of the Paradise was directed by Brian DePalma and used the split screen that he so effectively later used in Carrie. Also as you said, amazing songs plus superb cast, lets face it Paul Williams is one of the most under rated song writers of all time, ranging from The Muppets to The Carpenters and he worked with Daft Punk. A film everyone should see (I have the soundtrack on vinyl and even the album art is amazing). This film poops on Rocky Horror.

Recently came across "House" aka "Hausu" the 1977 Japanese film. Am waiting for the dvd I ordered to arrive, after I read about it and sounds like the inspiration for "House" the 1985 US film (clarify: have watched US film, waiting to watch Japanese film). Technically horror, but some of the moments are rather off-the-wall funny. "House 2" (1987) isn't considered part of the over-all "canon", but it's laughable with some of the character reactions like when Grampa Jesse realizes he's a zombie.
