Very rare but a list I totally agree with (Silent House is the only one I haven't seen but not for long) - I personally think that the remake of We are What We Are is far superior to the original which is an unusual thing when it comes to American remakes of Foreign Language films, the story just seemed more cohesive.

Ben is the rat from Willard, who in Ben, befriended a sick boy who was bullied and killed annoying people. The rat killed the people not the boy. Ben never hurt the boy. In fact after Ben was injured, the boy nursed him. Michael Jackson sang the title song named Ben, of course. It is a pretty sappy song, more like romance sappy.

Hey Till, while The Blob does not get the love it deserves, gore hounds of a certain age do stand it alongside other classics The Thing and The Fly as the unholy triumvirate of 80s horror remakes. So thank you for taking the message wider and to younger audiences. It's big fun from when it was on the big screen till now. Still holds up.

The Happiness of the Katakuris is one of my favorite movies. I had no idea it was a remake.
The moment I saw Slumber Party Massacre remake, would be more female empowerment. I knew it would be shit like Black Christmas re-remake. Finally you mentioned Maniac 2012, on your list. This one scarred me for life, and I refuse to rewatch it ever since. The killer’s POV aspect is what traumatized me the most, and it’s the girlfriend I sympathized with, not the « hero » and his 101 « psycho in the making » backstory, lol. Town that dreaded sundown remake, was pretty good too.
